Good Morning Girlfriends! Grab a quick cup of coffee and come on it. Things are very, very busy around here so this will be a short post this morning. But, did want to connect with you today in some " shape, form or fashion."
The moving van arrived at our daughter's house on Wed. and this is what it has looked like over there.
Do you know how grateful that all of us are that professional movers are taking care of this entire move for them? Can I just say, it is wonderful to sit back and watch them " do their thing." They definitely know what they are doing and how to do it quickly and efficiently. They just require that one family member be present while they are working, so we've all taken our turns at " sitting and watching." You know, I almost felt guilty watching them. I'm not use to that, I'm use to being in on the action! ~smile~
Very early tomorrow morning Bridget and Clancy will will be leaving, heading to their new home in Dodge City, Kansas where Clint will be awaiting them. I pray travel mercy over them and will be glad to hear the words, " I've arrived" on Sunday. She will be staying with her inlaws tomorrow evening and it is wonderful that they are almost exactly half way between us and Dodge City.
Yes, good-byes such as this are not easy, but we will be fine. We will miss them terribly, but will look forward to our Skype visits and phone calls to keep us connected in-between our " real visits."
I have to remind myself of all the things that could be so much worse and that puts it all in perspective. I will do my best to hold back those tears until they are gone. I do not want them to leave with tears, so you guys pray that we can all hang on. And, as I said, we will be fine, it's just getting through the initial leave.
In the meantime I'll hold the memories of these past 10 months of having them near very close to my heart. Happy weekend to my dear blogging buddies!

I am not one to sit back and watch either, but in that situation I would probably gladly do so. =p Some years ago we helped a friend pack up their house, and boy did they have a ton of stuff. They had the biggest UHaul there was, and they still left roomfuls of stuff behind. Hope they will have safe travels. Let us know when they arrive at their destination. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou've been on my mind a lot. It's okay to cry in front of them...really. "Love and sorrow flow, mingled, down". I think our next move will have to be done by the pros. I don't think I'd have the stamina!
ReplyDeleteIsn't is awesome we live in a time when we can actually see as well as hear our loved ones who are far away? What a blessing to be able to do that.
ReplyDelete((hugs)) to you, dear sister, as well as prayers for strength to get through the initial goodbye.
I am familiar with the big truck rolling in since we have moved several times in our 41 years of marriage...and always left with a full heart and many wonderful memories
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of you and Bridget...beautiful mom and daughter..
I will continue to think of all of you...I know it will be the first thing I think of on Saturday morning and am sure I will shed some tears for you...
Glad Joel is there to keep you somewhat busy enjoying his visit..
What a wonderful perspective - you're right - it could be a whole lot worse! Nonetheless, I know this is tough but Skype and visits will make it bearable! Know that you're at the top of my prayers and will continue to be, especially tomorrow morning :) Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteI bet it was nice to sit and watch the movers. Moving is such hard work!
ReplyDeleteThinking of you at this time and praying for their safe travels.
I'm happy to see you are so positive about her moving and have a plan for how to cope with the in between times. Good luck with the goodbyes.
ReplyDeleteI am glad all the packing is completed but I feel for you as you say "bye". I LOVE Skype. My daughter (who is about 20 hours away) and I Skype almost everyday. :) I'll pray for you. When I saw the Coffee Girl's listing, I didn't see your name and my first thought was that you had been effected (or is that affected? hmmm...lol) by the horrible storms in the south. Glad to see all is well (as far as the storms go). I love the connection and fellowship we all can share through Coffee Girls. I treasure it each week. :) Have a good weekend (hope you get some rest).
ReplyDeleteLove ya!!
Praying for all of you in this transition time! Skype is a wonderful thing, and at least you will have that between visits!
ReplyDeleteBlessings and Hugs!
Goodbyes are so hard, but I am so thankful you will be able to keep in touch through Skype. I'll be thinking of and praying for you all!
ReplyDeleteSkype is awesome, I use it to talk to my parents in Norway all the time. I wish we could use a moving service like this when we move, but last time we moved and most likely next year too we will move with what we can carry in 8 suitcases. That is how we move between two countries.
ReplyDeleteIt is ok to let them see you cry, that is what it is to be a mom. You will miss her and she will miss you. My parents and I always cry when I leave them.
Hope you have a wonderful week.
I know how hard it is to live far from family. The visits that you will have will be so meaningful. you'll always make the most of every minute when you are together! Blessings on you all during this big transition. Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteThis blog is very good and efficient with what it does. You give detailed explanations on your posts which make people to understand so much about this topic.
