Friday Letters

It's been a few weeks since I did some letter writing and today I had a few I wanted to write.
Hope you will enjoy!

Dear Water....I am enjoying you more and more each day.  I started on Jan. 1 making a conscious effort to drink lots of you everyday and I've done just that.  It has gotten easier with each passing day.  BUT, I pretty much have to make sure I'm within sight of a potty all the time. ~a real bummer~
Dear Valentine's Day....you are one of my favorite days of the year.  I love hearts and all things associated with them.  And, it's a fun day to share your love, do something special, make some cut out heart cookies and just enjoy the day.  And, ours could be really special this year if our little Andi Kate should decide to be born on the 14th.
Dear Ladies Who Wear Leggings...#1 - always look in the mirror and please make sure your bum is adequately covered, not partially, but fully. #2 - if you need to look professional, leggings are not considered professional! I could go on but, I'll leave at that...... ~aren't you glad~
Dear Hair....why can't you stay colored and trimmed.  I get so tired of keeping you in "tip top" shape but then neither do I want to look unkempt and shaggy.  So, guess I'll keep maintaining you like I have forever.  Thankfully, I love my stylist and enjoy her company.
Dear Jane.com....I just had to stop receiving your daily emails on your "deals."  They were just too tempting and it's funny how "out of sight, out of mind" has worked.
Dear Folks....I have had several people ask me if mine and Hubby's marriage is surviving the building of our house.  I am pleased to say that we haven't even come close to not surviving.  I mean, my goodness, we've been married almost 44 years!  We haven't agreed on every detail but it hasn't been a big deal when we haven't.  For the most part we've pretty much been on the same page with things.  It has been an enjoyable process.  Yes, there are days that we have grown weary with all the decisions but that's just part of it.
Dear Daddy....I continue to be absolutely amazed at how well you have been doing the past several months.  I am beyond thankful for the way the Lord has restored you and you seem to enjoy your days and rarely complain.  I pray the rest of your days on this earth will be this way.
Dear HGTV....Fixer Upper has to be one of your best shows! Chip and Joanna are the cutest and so, so talented in their ability to have a vision for what most of us would call "a lost cause."  Hubby and I enjoy watching the show and marvel at the completed project.
Dear Facebook....you've got it all.  We can connect with all our friends and acquaintances, we can get all kinds of information, we can buy and sell and we can exchange recipes left and right.  You are a "one stop" does it all for sure! You rate right up there with Google. ~chuckle~

Dear Wal-Mart....it is so funny how I can enter your store as happy as a lark and after I have HAD to check out through the self check out, I am needing a serious attitude adjustment. It does not matter how hard I may try to do everything correctly, that stupid machine is never happy with what I do and is constantly trying to tell me what to do. If you would just hire real live checkers I would be sooo happy!  I'm thinking the world has gone "over the top" with automation.

That's it until my next letter writing post.

  1. Good morning! Such exciting days as you wait for the birth of that grandbaby. I've had two born in this month including a Valentine's baby. Little Donatella Valentina made her appearance on Feb 14th and what a wonderful day that was. Fun day to be born! Oh and I am soo with you on the hair thoughts...seems like every time I turn around those roots are back and I am a little shaggy and need to head down to the shop. But when your hair is short (like ours) and cut in a very specific style, we don't have much choice do we if we want to keep in shape...sigh. Soo glad your daddy continues to do well. Enjoy your week-end!

  2. Great letters, Lea. I love the one to the ladies that wear leggins. I agree. I drink a lot of water as well, but don't quite enjoy it as much as you. I hate being in constant search of a ladies room. And I usually have to go in the ickiest places!!! Have a wonderful weekend.

  3. Happy Friday to you! Your letter was just full of important issues today. I love the one about surviving your marriage. I would put remodeling a house while living in it right up there as a challenge. Thankfully we have done it three times and survived as well. Oh yes, to the leggings! Thank you. But, Wal Mart takes the cake. I just about refuse to go there and don't! D actually told off the woman supposedly helping him self check the other day. They have to be the rudest people WM could find to fill those positions. But, don't get me started. Have a great weekend.!

  4. Glad to hear your marriage has not suffered the new house construction!
Having a Baby born Valentine's Day is really sweet, but it's tricky to schedule parties on or near the day if it's a weekend. Couples like their celebrations more than taking a kid to a friend's birthday party. But it is still wonderful to get a new love on the 14th.
Leggings should not just cover the bum but the cottage cheese fat of thighs too. I'm not a fan of leggings after seeing so many un-classy examples of them wore like pants.
    Happy weekend to you too.

  5. I totally agree on the legging advice, ahem. A school I subbed in had a no blue jeans rule for teachers. I tend to think blue jeans are quite often far more appropriate than leggings! Glad you're going strong : ) I hope your grand makes her appearance on Valentine's Day. It seems totally fitting. Enjoy your weekend!

  6. Lea, these are GREAT!!!! I love this list. Agreed on the water--I drink a lot at potty a lot. True about leggings...no matter how thin one is! Love Fixer Upper! And yes...WALMART makes me crazy.

  7. I know that I need to drink more water ... it's not a very convenient drink for me as I prefer my water as cold as it can possibly be and it doesn't stay cold enough long enough to suit me.

As far as leggings are concerned, there are so few women who, IMHO, can really pull them off ... the rest of us should just forget about them. ;-)

  8. I love these letters and so agree with leggings and Chip and Joann…so excited about your new granddaughter and adore her name. A Valentine's Day birth would be wonderful!

  9. I always get a chuckle when I read your letters. I agree with the leggings bit. Many of the younger teachers wear them and they look cute but older women ...please don't. :) I too am trying to drink more water. By the way, I'm sure your grandchild would have loved the Frozen party. It was the best. I came home with such a smile on my face just thinking of how thrilled the little girls were to dance and sing with Elsa and Anna. Even the boys who always say they are tired of Frozen, allowed Elsa and Anna to paint their faces. :)

    Blessings and love,
    Debbie
