Lea's Favorites and Reviews

It's been a few weeks since I've had a "favorite" post but I do have a few items I want to share with you today.  All of this weeks favorites could help to make your life easier and isn't that what we all want.

Okay, can I just tell you that these little jewels will "make you slap your pappy."  They are so, so quick and easy!  I saw them over in the refrigerated section of the store where biscuits, and other brands of prepared cookie dough is located.  These are scored for easy breaking apart or cutting apart, place on a cookie sheet and bake.  I love to have items like this in the freezer for those times that either we are wanting something or I need to take cookies to an event.  These fit the bill and I think they come in a couple of other choices but caramel, pecans and chocolate can hardly be beat.

And, since we're on the subject of baking cookies............these have been around for a while but if you have not seen them, you need to grab a box.  These pre-cut parchment papers fit a standard size cookie sheet perfectly.  And, you will not even have to wash your cookie sheets if you use these.  They are so handy!

I'm a big fan of Marie Callender products. I saw this in the frozen food section at the grocery store a couple of weeks ago and decided to give it a try.  There are some days that something like this is real handy to have to pull out for dinner.  It has microwave instructions as well as conventional.  I baked it in a conventional oven and we did enjoy it.  Was it as good as homemade?  No, it was not but it was good and again, nice to have in the freezer for a quick meal.

Do you have a clothes steamer?  If you don't then you probably need to get one and this one is TOPS! This is the second steamer I have ever had and while I liked the first one I had, I love this one.  It has such great steam and works like a charm.  I have never owned one of the large, takes up a lot of space, is on rollers, kind of steamers.  They just take up way too much space so I never bought one.  But, when the handheld steamers came out I got one.  And, this comes in a travel size as well, very easy to fit in your luggage with a handy travel bag.  And, yes, it is available on Amazon.

And, Clancy won the Showmanship Award this past Saturday at the first show of the season.  Clancy has 3 sheep this year and definitely off to a  great start and certainly a favorite of his CiCi's. And, I can hardly believe that this little guy will be 10 years old next Tuesday.

  4. I used to buy Marie Callender’s products for Mom to have on hand when she lived in an apartment. They were so easy for her to prepare and offered a wide variety as well. Having the cookies on hand is a good idea. D often needs them for open houses. I think these would sell the house for sure. Clancy Man is growing up and such a fine, responsible young man. Not to mention cute as a bug. Enjoy the rest of your week. Looks like we’re getting a lot of rain there. Not so much here but wonderful temps.

  5. Clancy is so cute and good for him!!

I love Marie Callender's products too. We don't eat that many premade foods but I'll tell you...the Lattice Top Peach Pie is almost better than my homemade ones.

Love those break apart cookies because you can cook one or two at a time. That's convenient and offers just a little bit of discipline. :)

  6. Such a delightful post, my friend. No, I don't have a steamer, but I have often told myself I NEED to get one. I will certainly check out the one you mentioned.

    And yes, it is always nice to have something in the freezer for a last-minute meal. Last night was one of the nights for us. We had plans to go to my parents for supper, but my husband ended up working late so I had to whip something together. Thankfully I had a meal in the freezer {{smiles}}

    Hugs to you!

  7. I absolutely love these posts where you review products. I have a hand-held steamer as well and just this morning I thought-I ought to bring that to the office to have it here for those 'wrinkly' days.

My hubby loves the Maria Callender pot pies. I have never actually tried her meals.

Congrats to Clancy. It just makes your heart beam when a grandchild has something wonderful happen to them.

Have a great Wednesday- xo Diana

  9. I love to read about your favorites. We bought a steamer that we brought to Europe with us. It worked great the first 2 times but then started smoking and we had to ditch it. It wasn't the same brand as yours. I'm on my way to Amazon to order your brand. Have a great week, Lea.

  12. Thanks, Lea. I am very interested in the parchment sheets. Struggled with cutting pieces from the roll and they roll up. Thanks for the tip.
The mini steamer sounds like something I would use also.
Hope your week is going well.
