Wednesday Medley

And, once again, Terri has given us questions to answer this Wednesday.  Thanks Terri, we appreciate you.

1.  On this day in 1908, Billy Murray hits the charts with his “Take Me Out to The Ball Game”.  Did you watch the MLB playoffs, and are you watching the World Series?

No and No.  The only time I have ever been interested in baseball was when our son played.  He only played a few years and then went strictly to golf.  I enjoyed watching him but I have no interest in it otherwise.  I won't exactly watch the World Series but I'll likely be sitting in the room with Hubby while he watches and that is fine.  I'll be on my laptop and it will only be in the background for me.

2.  On this day in 1962, “The Manchurian Candidate”, directed by John Frankenheimer, starring Frank Sinatra and Laurence Harvey, was released.  What is your favorite Frank Sinatra song?

I like a lot of Sinatra's songs but the first one to come to my mind was "Come Fly With Me."

3.  On this day in 1968, Mick Jagger and Marianne Faithful were busted for pot and released on £50 bail.  Has your state approved the sale of medical marijuana?  In a nutshell, what are your thoughts on the subject?

Louisiana has not approved the sale of medical marijuana.  I have no issue with it being approved by our state as it has so many benefits for certain health issues.

4.  On this day in 1979, the Guinness Book of Records presented Paul McCartney with a rhodium disc as the all-time best-selling singer-songwriter. What is your favorite song by Paul McCartney?

It would be "Maybe I'm Amazed" from 1970.

5.  On this day in 2017, Albert Einstein’s “Theory of Happiness” written on a note as a tip for a bellboy in 1922, sold for $1.6 million.  His Theory of Happiness is:“A calm and modest life brings more happiness than the pursuit of success combined with constant restlessness.”   Was Einstein right?
As far as I'm concerned he was very right. I cannot imagine living my life in constant pursuit of success.  Now, I'm a firm believer in always doing our best at whatever we do, but just in constant pursuit of success as the world views success, NO!  It seems that some folks can never be satisfied and are in constant pursuit of "even more success."  Thus, they live in constant restlessness. ~no way to live life~

6.  Tell us something random about your week so far…
We rolled in from our trip yesterday afternoon around 2:00.  I immediately started the laundry, unpacking and going through the mail.  It's the absolutely worse part of traveling as far as I'm concerned.  I'll continue playing "catch up" today and should be "back on track" by tomorrow and I'll be "raring to go."  It was a great trip and I'll be posting about it in the next few days.

  3. Well, I don't even have to tell you we are watching the WS! Baseball definitely is a highlight at our house. We had an interesting discussion recently with a doctor friend about the use of marijuana....I had no idea some of the benefits for even patients with dementia and such.

  4. Hi Lea! I'm stopping over from Terri's blog to see the answers to your questions. Sports in general is not a top priority in our house. We don't even get any of the sports channels. And I agree 100% with your answer on Albert Einstein. Too many people are so concerned with getting ahead and never get to enjoy their own lives. Life is short!

  5. I agree. Catching up after being away is the worst. Glad you had a safe trip, Lea.

  6. I am so glad you had a great trip and arrived safely home - cannot wait to read all about it! The absolute worst part of trips is definitely the getting back to "reality" as soon as you are home!

  7. Unpacking is the worst. Sometimes I'm still not quite unpacked after a week. I blame jetlag. ☺️

  8. Welcome back home!
Take your time "Unpacking". That's what I'm doing, too.

  9. Thanks for joining in on the Medley!! I need to figure out a security issue to make the linky work. Maybe I'll be successful next week... but it won't make me anxious! I enjoyed your answers and agree with you about getting home from vacation. And when I was working full time, it was even worse with all the catch-up there AND at home. But... totally worth getting away for a bit. Looking forward to your photos and stories!
