Want, Need, Wear, Read

I'm linking up with Andrea over at Momfessionals for her monthly "Want, Need, Wear, Read" link up.  It's a first for me but I've seen several participating in it and decided to join in today.

WANT - I think outside accent lighting on a home is so, so pretty, such as shown above.  Hubby and I did not do it when we built but we have talked about how much we both like it since then.  So, I'm thinking it might a good idea to mention it to Santa.

Now, don't you agree that accent lighting would be "the icing on the cake?"

NEED - Well, what I really, really need is to find a "good fairy" to wrap my Christmas presents.  I'm staring at a pile of Christmas cards to prepare for mailing and my schedule is, otherwise, quite full up until the 17th when our daughter and Grandsons arrive.  So, just not sure when the gifts will be wrapped.  But, it will likely get done.

WEAR - Now, if I were like some of these young bloggers that do such a great job posting pictures of themselves, I would post some of myself.  I just have not quite gotten the hang of how they take all these cute pictures.  I'm saying that to say that I'd post some of the things I'm wearing right now.  But, for now, I'll just tell you.  I'm wearing a lot of booties, lots of jeggings with tunic sweaters or tops and always enjoy "dressing up" on Sundays.  And, I will be wearing a good bit of red in the days ahead and just maybe I'll snap a picture or two and post them.  We shall see.

READ - I recently ordered this devotional book to use during the Advent season this year.  I'm very fond of Max Lucado and I'm sure these devotional readings will be a real blessing to me as I prepare this Christmas season.  It's so easy to allow the hustle and bustle of the season to cast a shadow over the "real reason" that we celebrate.  I want to do all that I can to prevent that.  I will start this on Friday and I'm so looking forward to it.

And, until next time, Happy Everything!!!

  1. We put in outside lighting when we moved into the house and we're glad that we did. Have a great week.

  4. We have lights in the eaves around the house that give it a nice glow and night appearance. But, I would also like to add some ground lights on the corners of the house to highlight trees there. Still in the talking phase now though. Enjoyed your new Tuesday blog. What would we do without tunics? Dick is my photographer but I try not to abuse his lack of enthusiasm for such. LOL!

  5. I think accent lighting would be perfect on your breathtaking home :) and I need to get a wrapping fairy stat but my daughter likes to help with the tags now that she can write so that makes it more fun for sure! xoxo ERIN

  6. Lea, I hope Santa finds it in his heart and budget to get you your outdoor lighting. I think it would be beautiful. Let me just say the whole selfie thing is quite the qaundary to me too. It's so hard to find good lighting in our house, so none of mine are stellar, but I'm going to keep at it. Give it a whirl pretty lady! I have a love/hate relationship with wrapping packages. Hope your week is off to a great start and you had a lovely Thanksgiving!!! XOXO

  7. Selfies are hard to take, I think. I try to concentrate on the angle but even with that, my attempts often look terrible. But as you said, some people really know how to do it.

  8. LOVE your home and yes indeed, accent lighting would be icing on the cake!! I wish I could come over and the your outfit photos, I bet we'd get some great shoots and have a ball doing it!! I do not do good selfies, when the youngest flies the coop, I'm in trouble because Mr. isn't keen on taking photos, lol!
