Miscellany Monday

Yep, it's Monday again and that means we get to link up with Carissa and be random.  What a fun way to start off the week.

Pigtails

The Princess was sportin' her first pigtails on Saturday.  Can I just tell you that they were  the cutest!  She and her Daddy stopped by for a minute and I just about had a fit when she walked through the door saying, "CiCi."   Oh, the joys of Grandchildren!

Lipstick

Hubby caught me "in the act" Sunday morning before I was leaving for church.   I LOVE lipstick!  Applying lipstick is the last and final thing I do before walking out the door and I always apply it at the dining room mirror.  I guess because I leave my lipstick in my purse and that mirror is the nearest one to the backdoor.  I refer to lipstick as "the icing on the cake."  I feel like I am fully dressed and ready for the day when I've got my lipstick on.  AND, I have given my husband and children strict orders that they had better not forget to have lipstick put on these lips when I leave this earth.  Now, not sure why it matters because it is my wishes that no one, outside my immediate family, see my body once I leave this earth.  But, guess it just makes me feel better knowing that my earthly face will have lipstick on it one last time.  Okay, now that you think I am totally crazy...........

The Formidible Women

Yep, we call ourselves "The Formidible Women."  Now, the definition of formidible is "inspiring fear or respect through being impressively large, powerful, intense or capable."  Well, I think this group would cover all of those descriptions. ~chuckle~  Truth be known, several years ago (I've forgotten how long ago) we formed what we call "the Birthday Club."  It really happened quite by accident but 3 times a year we celebrate birthdays.  Those we are celebrating get to choose where we will go, where we will eat and what we will do for their celebration.  We've had some fun outings and our latest was this past week. Might I add, what happens with the Formidible Women, stays with the Formidible Women. ~wink~

Recordable Books

If you have children, Grandchildren or children that are special to you then you need to know about these!  The recordable storybooks by Hallmark.  I bought each of ours one for their birthdays and I read those to them.  I bought them the ones shown above last week and Hubby read these to them.  I don't know who came up with this idea, but they were sure cleaver.  And, it saves Mommy and Daddy from always having to read to them.  They can just pick it up, open the pages and it's magically read to them.  And, check out the Hallmark website before purchasing one.  They will often have coupons up to $10 off.

  3. I am a chapstick girl... I can never find the right shade of lipstick or one that doesn't get everywhere. But I never leave the house without 2 coats of mascara.

  13. I have one Hallmark book here for me to record. Like you I think ahead and want the book for my grandchildren in case I am gone before I ever get one! Do no I didn't think the lipstick request was crazy. I do not want anyone to see me after I pass except my immediate family. I will have ashes at a memorial service!
