Friday Letters

Dear New Year, you have started off so smooth that it is almost scary.  So, let's keep it that way.  I'm lovin' 2014!!
Dear Canvas on Demand, I received my first wrapped canvas from you yesterday and it is awesome!!!  Of course, the subject matter was pretty awesome too.  If any of you need/want your pics done on a canvas, I highly recommend these folks. Don't you think these are pretty awesome? And, they are always having some type of coupon special.  I got these 30% off.
Dear Downton Abbey, Oh, my, you have had so, so much drama the first two shows and this whole incident with Anna just has me most upset.  You do know I love Anna and Mr. Bates and I'm not liking what I am feeling about their future. Guess I'll wait and see before drawing conclusions.
Dear Desktop Computer, You are my best friend and worst enemy!!  Last week when I had the issue after downloading Java from a website that was bad, you scared me too death.  I was pretty sure you might not ever be the same, but thank goodness for excellent backup programs and a wonderful computer "go to man," you were saved and are running as good as new.  And, thank goodness for ICloud where I resurrected all my contacts.  I will be most mindful before downloading anything in the future. ~hard lesson learned~
Dear Louisiana Center for the Blind, I am so hopeful that you are going to be able to provide some accommodations for my legally blind Dad.  He needs assistance with so many things sight related and to aid him we're hopeful you can direct us to resources that will help. I left you a message yesterday and am awaiting your return phone call.
Dear American Idol, thank you for making the necessary changes to draw us back in. I'm pretty impressed with the judges and their chemistry with one another and the first two nights of try-outs were not unbearable with stupidity. But, I'm hopeful there will be someone that is going to really impress me before Hollywood tryouts.  Thus far, that has not happened.
Dear Lipton, your "sparkling" green tea is delish, especially the Strawberry Kiwi flavor.
Dear Scratchy Throat, paleesee, do not turn into the terrible crud that everyone has right now!!!  I really do not want you and have tried hard to escape it.
Dear NIV Bible, I am so enjoying your one year reading plan.  Just in these past 17 days you have blessed me immensely and I look forward to reading you through this year.

  1. Good morning! First of all those canvas pictures are just adorable! LOVE them! And then, Downton Abbey is really good, but soo much is happening every week, and your right I CAN see where it's headed and I don't think I like the feel. And we have taped American Idol and plan on taking a look at it tonight. I am encouraged that you think it might be better as last years judges were soo bad I couldn't decided rather or not to even watch again, so this is good news as I DO love the singing. Enjoy your week-end!

  4. Yes, those canvases are beautiful. I had some small ones done of Chandler and Cassidy for their Christmas and was very pleased. Downtown Abby is becoming too much like a soap opera for me right now. I did see an interview with "Anna" the other day regarding this series and what happened to her. She said that the intent was to show how this sort of thing would have been handled at that time and how she and Mr Bates would deal with it as well. I'm hopeful it ends well, but am not looking forward to the process.
Our computer is in the shop for a cleansing and new security. How did we function before computers?
    Have a great weekend.

  5. I am with you on so many things. I love your canvases...I'm in the process of ordering one for my daughter using a Groupon I bought. Great deal! I have a canvas in my back hall and love it.

Last year was the first time in my life I read the Bible all the way through. I actually followed a chronological plan, so the order was different. I have to say it was the best thing I've ever done. I'm trying again this year, using a plan that is not chronological but still gets me through in a year. I think I developed some discipline last year, so I'm hoping it carries over into 2014 : )

    Enjoy your weekend!

  7. Those two kids in boots are just the cutest!!! American Idol drew me again after I'd given up for a couple or 3 years. Love Harry's humor and good looks, and that that are all more gracious in their critiques and that no one is being made fun of. I'm with you--hoping there is a singer that wows me. We liked the dude who did the Obama impression. So hoping your dad gets the vision help. Can imagine that must be one of the hardest things ever--blindness. Sorry you're sick:( Prayers.

  9. I loved seasons 1 & 2 of Downton, but after last Sunday I am stopping watching it. It leaves me upset pretty much every episode. I hate the way it has made me feel and am sad to stop watching.

  12. Love those canvases! But with those subjects, what's not to love? ;-)

Praying that you will get some help for your dad.

I've been wanting, for the longest time, to do one of those read-through-the-Bible programs ... it's not too late for me to jump in this year.
