Happy new week!
I hope each of you had a nice Father's Day weekend. We celebrated over grilled burgers and all the trimmings yesterday afternoon. We topped it off with Blueberry Pound Cake. And, we celebrated these 3 Dads, my Hubby, my Daddy and our son. Sure wish we could have celebrated our SIL as well, but a few miles exist between us and at times like these, it really stinks. But, it is what it is and we make the best of it.

And, the landscape is moving right along. They actually started putting some of the plants in last week. I cannot even imagine working as hard as these guys in this intense heat and humidity. My goodness! But, they are doing an amazing job and it gets prettier every day. There is still more planting to be done, and stone and rock work and they should come close to finishing up this week. I will show you some "up close and personal" pictures when it is completed. Thanks for following along. ~smile~

I put some patriotic touches out on the front porch last week. In spite of the troubling days we are living in here in the US, it's still the grandest country in the world. And, I like to show my love of my country whenever possible.

And, I leave you with a chuckle............The above picture is of our spa tub in our master bath. In the 10 months we have lived here we have used it 3 times so I haven't even thought about running the cleaning cycle on it. I have cleaned the surface but nothing more. Well, Saturday morning I got the manual out and decided that, even though it is seldom used, that it probably would be wise to run a cleaning cycle through it. The manual said to add 1/2 cup of bleach and 2 teaspoons of low suds dish washing detergent. Well, I didn't know if my dish washing detergent was low suds or not but as you can see, I found out it wasn't. I set a timer for the 15 minutes that it was to run and left it. I happen to go back into the bathroom for something and I saw what was happening and didn't know whether to laugh or cry. It had about 5 minutes left of the cycle and I just decided to let it continue and hope that the suds were through growing. But, let me tell you, I had a good time rinsing those suds out of the tub when the cycle was over. Lesson learned!! I will make sure I use low suds dish washing detergent next time.
Have yourself a wonderful new week!

Good morning! I can just imagine how glad you are to see those plants and such finally going in....I am sure it will all be just beautiful. And lol on those spa bubbles. I bet that took a while to rinse away. Don't know if I have ever seen a detergent that says low suds, but then I've never looked either, lol. Happy week!
ReplyDeleteNow that is funny! Thanks for the laugh this morning. Your porch stuff is so pretty. Glad you had a good time on Father's Day.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week!
The landscaping is adding the finishing touches to your beautiful home. I would also like to see some distance pictures along with the close ups for perspective and the overall affect. That is too funny about the suds. Truly, lesson learned. Someone told me to use a little Clorox in mine while running the jets. I did and it completely discolored the chrome on the drain. Thankfully, D knew a guy who changed it out without costs. We have both learned valuable lessons. I do hope you will enjoy your tub as much as I do mine.
ReplyDeleteYou home is just stunning and the landscaping is the finishing touch.
ReplyDeleteYour Father's Day celebration sounds perfect!
I didn't know that there were low sudsing dishwashing detergents.
ReplyDeleteYour landscaping is coming right along - it looks great! I can't wait to see more.
I loved the tub bit. And although I love the idea of a huge tub, when I had one I rarely used it too. I guess I tend towards showers although the idea of it always sounds so romantic. The house looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of a self-cleaning tub and I love the idea! Your story made for a great picture (everything is fair game for blog fodder, right?!).
ReplyDeleteThe photo of your dad, husband, and son -- really special.
Hi Lea... We were in our last house for 12 years and I used the spa maybe 4 times. Now that I don't have one I miss it. Have a great weekend.
