Wednesday's Random Dozen

1. Please share one memory of your high school graduation. Pics would be great!

My only memory is just the sheer excitement I felt just being through with high school.  If I had only realized at the time that those were some of the best years of my life. ~smile~

2. What is one "emergency use" item you keep in your vehicle at all times?  Well, my Hubby is just like a Boy Scout, always prepared.  The one item that he feels each of our vehicles MUST have is a flashlight, and  he checks them frequently to make sure the batteries are still working.  What a man!!!

3. In your region, do you celebrate graduation open houses? Addendum: (If so,) how many open houses/bridal showers/weddings are on your upcoming events calendar? We recognize our graduates during a worship service at our church, but no open house as such.  Our little city wrote the book on bridal parties and showers.  Brides have announcement teas, showers, and luncheons "to beat the band."  It is amazing that I do not have one on my calendar at this time, but there have been times when I had 3 or 4 on my calendar at one time. I think we Southern Women are just always looking for a reason to  host a celebration. ~chuckle~

4. Tell me one truth you believe about motherhood. A child never realizes the love of a mother until they have their own children.  If they never have children, then they never fully realize the depth of a mother's love.

5. What was the last thing you broke? Well, I cannot remember the last thing I broke.

6. On average, how many pieces of junk mail do you receive daily? Oh, my, way too much, probably 6-8 pieces a day

7. Do you like to shop by catalog? Yes, yes, yes!!!! Give me a catalog and the internet and I'm "good to go."  I probably do 75% of my shopping (outside of groceries and toiletries) through catalogs and the internet. It's just so convenient!

8. Is lawn maintenance at your house a "his job," a "her job" or "his/her job" or "that's why we have teenagers" job? I'm not a fan of yard work, but my husband loves it and does an excellent job with it. He wants it picture perfect and he pretty much (with some hired help) keeps all 1 1/2 acres manicured. I enjoy working with plants on our patio, a smaller more "doable" job.

9. Which room would you like to redecorate in your home?

Since we just did some major redecorating a year ago, there's not anything I would change just yet.

10. Do you read a newspaper regularly, or do you read most of your news on line? If I read a newspaper it is always just before I head to bed, but most days I don't bother. I scan Fox News on the internet.

11. Do you believe everything happens for a reason? Yes, I do.

12. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?  Well, I'm concerned about both, but if pushed, I would have to say, doing the right things.

  1. Lea, I just choked on coffee. I thought your answer to #2 was going to be "my husband"...and nothing else. Laughing at the mental picture!

He sounds like a prince though - and then I read about the yard -- definitely a prince!

  2. Enjoyed reading your answers. For #4 on motherhood, that is so true.
My daughter, for now, isn't planning on having children. How will she ever know?

  3. I loved your answers, especially number 4 on motherhood...so true! I used to tell my wayward son that I hoped he'd have twins--just like him! Fortunately, he grew up and became the person I'd always hoped that he would be, but not before he about drove me crazy. LOL

  4. I enjoyed reading your dozen as usual! I couldn't remember breaking anything either so I wrote an egg shell as my answer! ~ I can imagine your home doesn't need redecorating because what you've shown is beautiful! I'd love to see more! :)
