Lea's Favorites

I so appreciate your enthusiasm about my "favorites" post.  Many of you have shared that one of my favorites has become your favorite after reading about it on my blog.  I'm so glad because I love knowing what others favorites are as well as they might just become mine too.  So, here's to some more of my favorites!

Lots of you may already know about these wonderful laundry items.  My DIL told me about them a few weeks ago and I couldn't get to the store fast enough to get them.  I guess they are just something I've overlooked but I am a HUGE fan of good smelling linens!  The Purex Crystals go into the washing machine and of course, the dryer sheets into the dryer.  I've used the plain dryer sheets forever but just never noticed that they come in several scents now.  I love pulling my sheets and towels out of the  dryer now with the scent of lavender.  Ahhh, such freshness!

A friend of mine introduced me to this and it's my new favorite body wash and cream.  I've been using lotion or cream on my entire body for many years when I get out of the shower.  I've never used one that left my skin feeling this silky smooth.  No, it's not packaged all fancy and pretty but I don't care a bit, it is just plain.good.stuff!!!  I buy mine at Sam's in packages of two but I think you can get it at Wal-Mart as well and of course, Amazon (it's way more expensive on Amazon).  I go through one of the jars of cream every month and the body wash every 2 months.  I much prefer cream over lotion as I like the thickness of cream.  And, this leaves NO residue at all, just a silky smooth feeling skin.

I'm pretty sure that many of you reading this have probably never heard of Psalty's Kids.  Psalty's Kids have been around since my two children were little.  I bought the Psalty praise cassette tapes to play when we were in the car and before long our entire family knew every word of every song.  They are now, of course, on CD's and I have bought them for my Grans to enjoy.  They are filled with songs of inspiration about a God centered life.  The tunes are cute and catchy and Clancy, our 8 year old Grandson, sings them every morning on their way to school.  There are 10 different CD's and they can be ordered from www.psalty.com  and make a great inexpensive "happy" for your child or Gran. To tell you the truth, I love and enjoy them as well! 😉

I'm in love with this stuff!  I've heard about hummus in recent years and it just did not sound like anything I would be interested in at all.  I was at some event about a year and a half ago and they served plain hummus as one of the food items.  I decided to give it a try and I've been a fan ever since.  When I found out that there were all kinds of varieties I began trying them and the Roasted Red Pepper is one of my favorites and so is the Black Bean and Jalapeno.  I use Doritos to dip into them and they often serve as an afternoon snack for me.  AND, hummus is very low in calorie  and very easy to make yourself.  There are a zillion recipes on the internet so help yourself!

I will be flying out to DesMoines, Iowa this morning.  I'll visit with my youngest brother and his wife and then we'll go to Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa .  My "favorite nephew" (he's my only one) and his very special girlfriend (pictured above)  will be staring in the play, Last Train to Nibroc. It is the story of a fiesty Southern couple and I can hardly wait to see it.  I'll tell you all about it when I get home.

And, my most favorite of all this week............our Andi Kate!!!  This little sweetheart will be 2 years old tomorrow.  She has brought so much joy and love into our family and is our little "miracle girl."

And then, my son and his wife gave me some of that lotion for part of my Christmas gift and I have just LOVED it. Your right, it's just perfect. And then oh how we loved Psalty! LOVED all those songs...we had them all too. Same DIL introduced me to humus a couple of years ago and I too am a GIANT fan. The play sounds exciting and fun...enjoy. 9. Thanks for the recommendations. I used to love Sabra, too, but now I make my own and freeze it in very small containers for daily snacks at work. Roasted red pepper is my specialty :)
