The Blended Blog Asks

The Blended Blog gals are the best and come up with such great link-ups and today's is no exception.  It's all about Spring!

1. What 3 colors remind you most of Spring?
Hot pink, lime green and yellow.

2. What is the first thing you’d add to your wardrobe in Spring?
I can think of absolutely nothing.  I worked on my closet this past weekend and I think I'm "good to go" as far as clothes for Spring are concerned.

3. What is the first wardrobe item you ditch in Spring?
Turtlenecks, I love turtlenecks but only in late fall and winter.  They might be nice on a cool spring morning but by noon they are wayyyy to warm.

4. Who mows the grass where you live?
Not sure what "where you live" means but at our house, we have a lawn service that mows and maintains our yard.  I have never been one to mow the lawn.  About the only outside work I enjoy is the porches and patio plants and I really enjoy preparing those for spring with plants and such.  And, I generally am the one that keeps them watered and that can be a big job in the hot, hot summer.

5. What’s Spring Like where you live?
Cool mornings, warming up to just about perfect and often there will be afternoon thunderstorms.

6. What’s Your favorite thing about Spring?
Seeing the azalea's burst forth in beautiful bloom.  I just wish their blooms lasted a whole lot longer.
This was taken in April a few years ago of one of the flower beds at our old house.

7. Are you a Spring Cleaner?
Oh, I'm a Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter cleaner.  I think cleanliness is next to Godliness and truly enjoy keeping a clean house. ~I know, strange~

8. Are you a Baseball Fan?
No, I'm not.  Our son played little league baseball and I sure did enjoy watching him play but when he laid it aside, so did I.

9. Tulips or Daffodils?
Oh, I'll take tulips but, they do, need to last much longer.  They are just beautiful but their blooms only last such a short, short time.  I planted some one time and never did it again because it just hardly seemed worth it to me because of their short blooming time. ~not much bang for the buck~

10. Favorite Outdoor Spring Activity?
Well, not sure this is considered an activity but it would be potting plants for our porches and patio.  It's so nice to get life back into the pots after the winter and looking at pots of dirt.

11. Flowers in the Ground or in Pots?
Both and we have both.  We enjoy color in our beds as well as in pots and have many blooming plants throughout our landscape.

12. Favorite Bird?
My husband is the ultimate bird lover, bird watcher and bird care giver.  He takes such  good care of the birds around our house and they apparently know that because they visit all the time.  We have some beautiful blue birds right now and also some pretty cardinals.  They would be my favorite as their colors are just beautiful.  And, then there's the pesky barn swallows!  Oh, my goodness, the mess they make but we've about taught them that they are NOT welcome at the Culp household.

13. Car Wash or Wash Vehicles at Home?
It would be the car wash.  I mean they have them so perfected now and they are so convenient and quick.  I go through them quite regularly because I can't stand a dirty car.

14. When Do You pull out Your sandals?
I usually wait until I see others wearing theirs and this year, that was a couple of weeks ago.  I'm not wearing them everyday but about half of the time right now.

Happy new week!

  5. Love this post today. I love getting to know everyone more and more. Hope that your Easter was sweet dear Lea. We had a wonderful Resurrection Sunday. Now I think I will join in with you.

    1. What 3 colors remind you most of Spring?
The soft pastels. Pinks, yellows and blues.

    2. What is the first thing you’d add to your wardrobe in Spring?
    A pair of white sandals.

    3. What is the first wardrobe item you ditch in Spring?
    Probably my winter coat.

    4. Who mows the grass where you live? My husband does all of our yard work including weed eating. And...it seems to take forever. We live in the country so there's quite a bit to maintain.

    5. What’s Spring Like where you live?
Right now we are experiencing cool mornings too and warming up by midday.

    6. What’s Your favorite thing about Spring? Watching for the humming birds. Several of my friends has spotted some but I haven't. I also love to smell the freshness in the air after an afternoon shower. My pond looks so lovely after it rains too.

    7. Are you a Spring Cleaner? LOL! Well, sorta, kinda. I take it by spells. I actually dislike cleaning. My oldest daughter loves to clean her house. I only work PT and would pay someone to clean mine if my husband would agree. LOL! Just keeping it real dear Lea. But with doing a little kitchen makeover I am falling behind on things. Gotta get some more pep in my step.

    8. Are you a Baseball Fan?
Only when I am watching my grandgirl. She plays for travel ball is quite good if I may say so myself. I do enjoy watching the Atlanta Braves play. But I can take it or leave it.

    9. Tulips or Daffodils?
    Tulips. Love them.

    10. Favorite Outdoor Spring Activity?
Playing corn hole with the family, cookouts, watching the grands fish.

    11. Flowers in the Ground or in Pots?
I like both as well too.

    12. Favorite Bird?
Red bird hands down. Love them.

    13. Car Wash or Wash Vehicles at Home?
Well, my man washes our vehicles, cleans them out and vacuums them.

    14. When Do You pull out Your sandals?
LOL! In Florida, that's all year round! For me, I just wore a pair of sandals last week one day and it was on a warm day. I am more of your "give me a little wedge shoe" to wear. I am so short! But I do enjoy wearing sandals here and there. Especially if I am just hanging out at home or with the kids.

Enjoyed this today. Glad I could join in. Hugs and blessings to you dear Lea.

  9. Your azaleas's are just gorgeous! We have a few small bushes, and I'm always disappointed at how short their flowering time is. I finally put away my turtlenecks, but I swear I still need them! Thanks so much for linking up with us today!

  10. What a fun post :) I love learning more about you and I couldn't agree more about the short blooms of tulips! I can't wait to wear sandals and plant my pots of flowers but it's still too cold here. Hope it warms up before you visit!!!

  12. Virginia (as you probably already know) is covered in azaleas, so they always remind me of "home". I'm with you, I like things clean all the time. Love the colors you think of... I think I would pick those for summer. Great answers, Lea! XO
