The Wednesday Hodgepodge

And, once again, Joyce has provided the questions and we get to provide the answers.........

1. Four words that tell us something about your July?

1- family
2 - hot
3 - humid
4 - baking

Our daughter and 2 of her boys came to visit a couple of weeks ago and we enjoyed them and shortly afterwards we went into "real" Louisiana weather with high temps and lots of humidity.  Ugh!  And, thanks to air conditioning, I just keep right on baking. ~smile~  It's been a good July!

2. Four of your favorite summer foods?

Grilled hamburgers, bacon/lettuce/tomato sandwiches, fresh veggies and any type cream pie.

3. What were you doing at a quarter past four yesterday?

What an interesting question.........I was doing nothing exciting.  I was in the kitchen doodling around discussing with Tommy what he might want for dinner.  Duh!

4. fore!, four letter word, four sheets to the wind, ten-four, 24/7, four eyes, these four walls....pick a 'four' phrase and tell us how you relate currently

"Will Covid ever end" would be my 'four' phase for sure.  Covid is very much alive and well here in our area.  We have dear friends recovering from it right now and they both had the vaccines.  We know several others that have had it too.  My Dad's facility is still open to visitors but one nursing facility here is under lockdown.  I just pray it calms down real soon as I do not want a repeat of last year.

5. Something you own that is four years old?

I got this just about 4 years ago and it is one of my favorites lamps in our house.  I love Tiffany lamps.  Their colors are just beautiful and they come in all shapes and sizes.  They have so much more personality than just a regular lamp.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

I know all you that blog are definitely aware that Feedburner (the service that sends our blogs to those that wish to receive it through their email) is ending in the next few days.  If you are like me and do not know how to change that over to another service then I highly recommend my friend, Linda, over at Life and Linda.  Linda wears so many hats and one of those is designing custom blogs (she is my blog designer) and she also will change your blog email service over to Mailchimp. You can find her on my sidebar or at the link above.  And, if you do not get my blog through your email then you can fill out the form on the left hand sidebar and the link will come directly to your email whenever there is a new post.

And, I leave you with this...............

  1. Thank you for the email reminder. I had forgotten but will contact Linda and get her to do her magic on my blog as well. I'm not even sure if anyone even reads my blog much anymore period, but I will take care of that bit of business. I am so sorry to hear of the Covid increase in LA. I can't help but think there is a direct connection with the thousands of illegal's the governor has allowed in. Such a mess.

  2. Air conditioning is a blessing for sure. Glad your kids came for the visit before the heat wave. Our heat wave seems to be ongoing here which is not the usual. Hope your last week of July goes well!

  3. My mom is flying from Philadelphia to SC next week and the numbers are adding stress to the whole experience. She's vaccinated and we're all vaccinated, and it's a short direct flight. We've told her not to touch anything she doesn't absolutely have to touch. I think the planes are fine, but the airports are another story. I forgot about BLT's...that's a summertime staple here too. I love your lamp. I am also a fan of Tiffany lighting. Stay well!

  6. Glad you had a good visit from your daughter and grandsons. I don't care for the heat and humidity either. I will be inside, enjoying AC, too.

  7. We could really tell a difference in the temps as it's climbed into the 100s after enjoying the lower than normal for TX the past week weeks. Thankful for that A/C in the vehicles and home!

  8. Hi Lea, glad you had a nice visit with family. Hamburgers are always on the menu when family visits. Humidity is so uncomfortable. Thank you for the sweet shout out Lea. Happy upcoming weekend.

  9. I didn't think about using hot and humid for July but it only just occurred to me yesterday just how hot it has been!
