Cover of The Shack
This morning I ran across the following article concerning the book, The Shack and felt led to post it to my blog. I've read The Shack and it left me with an uneasy feeling and I could never put into words why it did. As Christians we can be so easily influenced by something so "seemingly good" and we must be "on guard" at all times and be very careful what we endorse as good. May this article bless you as much as it did me. A wonderful week to all!The Shack — SeriousFaith.com - Brent Riggs
Thanks so much for posting this! I have heard so much debate around this book - for this reason, I have avoided it altogether. IF there's a chance that it's as bad as some Christians say, then there's no need for me to put it in my mind. I'd rather not play with fire that way. IF it's as good as some say, then I have no doubt that God can teach me those things about Himself some other way. Love ya!
ReplyDeleteI have not read this book but have heard a lot about it, both good and bad. I'll have to go check out this article! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteOur book group read this. Some liked it, some not so much. I'm not sure why either way. I think some liked it because of the possibility of a women being God, but others didn't like it for the same reason. I thought the book was okay. I didn't believe some of it, but on the other hand it really makes you think.
ReplyDeleteA book that really has stayed with me and really makes you think is "UnCharted" by Angela Hunt. The author always puts sometype of twist in her book but she also does alot of research on her books and you can tell. I haven't met a book by Angela Hunt I didn't like. Her books are inspirational but not in your face type. If you read any of her books, I'd love to have your opinions on them. Visit my blog, and leave me a message. I had my whole book group passing around one of her book series called "The Fairlawn Series". They are about a funeral home and you learn alot. Not morbid though. Some parts are really funny. The one girl's husband does that for a living and he said everything Angela Hunt wrote about how they do things in a funeral home was correct.
By the way, I originally found your blog because of the blog hop for Mcklinky about Christmas traditions and got sidetracked on this.
