This N That

Good Morning!I have Cinnamon Pastry Coffee brewing today straight from my Keurig.  I had mine much earlier, but I have plenty left for you. So, get comfortable, come sit a spell and let's enjoy each others' company a few minutes. Oh, I'm so excited because I was #1 on Rachel's list this morning. ~wink~

It's been a good week, and a somewhat busy week.  But, I love to be busy, now, not so busy that I don't know if I'm "coming or going" but busy. Does that make sense?  I do hope so! ~smile~

On Tuesday our Garden Club held the meeting at our local assisted living facility, The Arbor.  We took pumpkins and fresh flowers and helped the residents make a fall arrangement for their room. What a pleasure to see these
ladies have so much fun.  It was such a small act on our part but it was huge to them.  While we were helping them I was thinking that I sure hope that a Garden Club group will come and help me make a fall arrangement should it ever become necessary for me to be in such a facility.

I have kept our little 2 year old Grandson 3 days this week and have been juggling him along with my other activities. Our precious 1 year old Granddaughter has had the stomach virus (yuck, yuck!) and since the two of them are kept together, we were trying to keep him away from her for a few days.  One
of the highlites of the day when keeping the "Grans" is when they  wake up from their nap or from a night's sleep and I go in to get them.  They reach their little arms up to me and I feel their little warm bodies all snuggled up against mine. Oh, me, it's just pure sweetness!  And, I know it will be gone all too soon, so I'm cherishing it while I can.

Yesterday our Women on Mission group met at one of our local landmarks, The Snyder Museum.  They are hosting a  quilt show there this month and we got to view some of the most gorgeous quilts before our meeting.  I love quilts and

The Snyder Museum
I can just see this one in some preteen girls bedroom. I love the vibrant colors!
am fortunate to own some beautiful ones made by my paternal Grandmother.  But, I nearly know that I would not have the patience to quilt.  What works of art!

If you stopped by to visit last Friday then you know that last Saturday I was assisting my Dad with his booth at our local Arts and Crafts Show.  And, I'm pleased to report that he had a most successful day and his woodwork was a big "hit!"  I thought you would enjoy seeing a couple of pictures from the event.  As you can tell, it was a chilly, chilly day, especially at 7:30 that morning.
Don't you just love my Dad's hat! ~chuckle~
How cool is that shadow of the cross on his jacket!  The cross was hanging in his booth.
Okay, I think that about wraps up my week and now I look forward to coming and visiting with you. If you want more Company Girl coffee, just link up here and enjoy yourself. We love that Rachel hosts this great  time of visiting  each week.

  1. The quilts are BEAUTIFUL! I would love to be able to quilt...or even own one with some significance...maybe someday! I love that you went and did the arrangements with the ladies at the Arbor, I know they loved it and appreciate having something so pretty to look at! It looks like y'all had a great day at your dad's booth. I would have loved to have gone...maybe even got a little fleur de lis for our house! Hope you enjoy the weekend and that that precious granddaughter feels better soon!

  6. What a sweet gesture to visit the assisted living home to bless the residents! I just recently visited my great grama (who turned 101 in September!) O am so thankful for the volunteers who give their time to make the nursing home a welcoming place to be. Thanks for stopping by this week!

  8. I remember being #1 a few times I think...when I was not sleeping well during the end of,my 2nd pregnancy, but since I'm on the West Coast that probably won't happen again soon.

Not that I'm in a rush to get older (although the wiser part would be nice) but I can't wait to have little grandbabies, but I guess the kids will have to grow up and find someone nice to marry first. Do they have to grow up? Anyhow, I'm sure your Gran had a fabulous time with his cool grandma.

I love all the quilt designs but I could never do anything like that.

    The arrangements look great!

And yay for a success at the show! Love that last photo of your dad.
