Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

Time for another MM and random thoughts with Carissa. It's the start of a busy, busy week for me but it's great to start it off with you, my dear blogging buddies.

{one}
We celebrated our family Easter on Friday and it was such fun to watch our sweet Grans hunt Easter eggs for the first time.  Here they are, ready to go!

{two}
I love Dollar Tree! I usually make a monthly run and find such good buys and they always have the cutest seasonal items.  One such item was these bunny ears.

 My little Princess had her first pedicure this past week.  DIL said that she sat mesmerized while she painted her toenails.  Doesn't she sport them proudly in her silver sandels? ~grin~

 Our SIL's parents house and ranch was hit by the recent tornado that went through the Tushka/Atoka, Oklahoma area on April 14th. They rode it out underneath their stair well and said it was the scariest thing they have ever had happen to them.  They pretty much lost everything and will be a long time recovering but they feel blessed to have survived.

This is their motor home that was turned over

 My baby brother will be coming for a visit this Thursday and I look forward to spending some time with him.  He is a very busy man but he always makes time to come and spend time with our Dad and me.  The only thing that would make his visit better is if his family could come.  Another bummer about family that lives off.

 Speaking of family living off........I do covet your prayers this week as we prepare for the move of our daughter and family this coming Sat.  I KNOW that I will ultimately be fine, but initially it is going to be very difficult.  Especially since she will be driving the 14 hour trip alone with Clancy.  They will only go half way on Sat. and will stay with family that night and then drive on to Dodge City on Sunday where SIL will be anxiously awaiting them.

May your week be blessed with the overflow of your Easter celebration!

  1. LOVE the Easter pics, those babies are precious!

    Praying for you this week! You are being so strong about the big move but I know how hard it will be for you. Thank heavens for Skype and facetime! Wish I could be there to help out.

    Praying for your SIL's family. We were spared this time with just lost power and some downed trees, I cannot even imagine how frightening it must have been for them!

    Enjoy the visit with your brother, I know you all will have a great time!

  2. Wow, so glad everyone was spared...I'm sure it was very scary. The weather has been crazy this spring!

    Thinking of you this week...it will be fine. There will be a new normal to get used to but you will. Do you have plans to go out that way anytime this summer?

  3. Oh wow...I am so sorry about your SIL's family and the tornado. It will be hard to rebuild but I am glad they survived. WOW!

    I can relate to the family far off and your brother coming to visit. My sister was recently through and it was really good to talk with her. So I can only imagine about my own children moving away since my oldest is almost 13.

    I hope you had a happy easter.

  7. You mentioned how they lost everything ... still, it was a shock to *see* the aftermath. Praise God that there were no injuries.

    I love those Easter pictures!

    Enjoy your time with your brother!

  9. I've been praying for you. I get choked up thinking about farewells like that.

    So sorry to hear about your
    SIL's parents' place. Wow! The power of a tornado; I used to live in KS and now will not live in house without a basement!

    Loving the little painted toes!

  10. Precious pictures and so so sorry about the damage. It has already been a horrible storm season here also, and fires which are still blazing and burning. So thankful they are okay, but I know the loss is hard....so sorry.

    Blessings on your daughter's move and all the adjustments.
