I Love Being A Southern Gal

Good Morning Company Gals!  I think this post probably calls for a glass of tea or lemonade. So grab a glass and enjoy!

I love being a Southern Belle!  I love being from the deep South!  I'm not sure that anyone else does things, cooks things, decorates or celebrates like we do. We do our very best to make an event out of everything we do. ~big smile~

Some of the lovely Southern Belles at the meeting
Yesterday afternoon the Women on Mission from our church met for our monthly meeting.  The meeting was around at one of my girlfriends/neighbors house.  As I was going around to the meeting I stopped along the way to snap pictures of a couple of the beautifully decorated doors in our neighborhood.  And, the azalea's are in full bloom and it's looks like a little bit of heaven in our neighborhood.  I know, many of you have not even made it to Spring just yet, but  perhaps you will not be too envious when you gaze upon these photos. ~smile~

Isn't this just beautiful!  This gal always out does herself each season of the year and we all enjoy riding by and seeing the "fruits of her labor."  To me this looks like something straight out of Southern Living. Wouldn't you just love to go swing!

We were greeted by this lovely entrance at the home where our meeting was held.  And, throughout the house were "touches of Easter."

Of course, we cannot meet with out eating. ~laugh~  It's the perfect ending to a gathering.   We enjoyed delicious Pound Cake with fresh Louisiana strawberries and whipped cream while sitting out on the patio enjoying the beautiful spring day.

As I stated, there's just nothing quite like being from the South where we do all things with "flair."  Happy, happy spring to you, my dear friends!

  1. Lovely lovely photos! Very welcoming sights to behold. You're right, Spring has not arrived here. We had a hot week last week but it is chilly this week, with hail in some parts of the Bay. Thanks for sharing a little sunshine!

Man, that pound cake looks AMAZING! I know you ladies had fun. As for us, we have FINALLY seen spring this week...unfortunately it has brought with it horrific allergies for Cooper! :(

  6. What beautiful photos! I do believe I would love living in the South. And there are beaches nearby. But until DSIL relocates, we'll stay here in Illinois.

  8. AMAZING! You should do a blog on "how to"...like "how to" decorate for spring, including how to make that amazing piece on the door. I am in awe. Spring is starting to arrive here in VA and the pollen is creeping out. YUCK!! The flowers are blooming and their beauty helps with the itchy eyes and runny noses. :) Have a super weekend and think about the "how to" tutorial. Hugs!

  9. That door is gorgeous! We've had rain everyday this week along with cool temps. My door isn't ready for something like that yet! There are not even any leaves on the trees...I'm so envious of your beautiful springtime weather!
