Spring is Coming..........

Mommy's Idea

It's Friday and that means time to share some fragments from our week.  Mine is all about spring , so grab a cup of coffee, sit back and enjoy "all things Spring."

Today is March 1st, just in case you didn't know! When March arrives, it usually means ~at least in our part of the country~ that Spring is just around the corner.  And, I certainly hope that is the case this year.  I'm always ready for Spring but this year, I'm especially ready. The official date is March 20th but I'm already putting out the welcome mat!
I think a front door says a lot about a house and I try to always have a welcoming look on our door.  I want it to say, "welcome, we're glad you are here."  I had to add a touch of Louisiana to the wreath this year by having a Fleur de Lis put on it with the spring flowers.  I was pleased!

Once inside the front door, these little bunnies will greet you in the foyer.  I've had these for several years and started using them once we had Grans.  Hanna Beth loves to get them when she is here and "mothers" them.

The kitchen island, the coffee table and dining table are each decked with bunnies and eggs for a very Eastery look.  I love the eggs and bunnies that look like chocolate  wrapped in the colorful foil.  Makes you want to pick them up and take a bite. Plus, they have a whole lot less calories! ~smile~

This is the entrance to our back door and it is the door we always use and some folks visiting do to.  Even if no one used it except me and Hubby, I would still have type of seasonal decor beside it.  I found this painted burlap bunny last year and I think he's just about the cutest little fella. Don't they say that "backdoor guests" are the best?

The gazing balls are beginning to glisten in the sun and of course, I've always got some sort of flag flying. ~it's the Southern way~ My garden angels are beginning to show their age but then so am I. ~don't you dare laugh~

And, no matter the season, these two fellas are going to greet any and every one that happens by our way.  They are so enjoying these sunny days and are not always staying curled up in the pine straw trying to stay warm.

Here's to you a happy first day of March and I hope you are about to welcome spring in your "neck of the woods."

  4. Loving that Fleur de lis door decor! Spring is definitely on the way here in the South and I am somewhat excited that the cold weather is going away, though not so excited for the heat of summer. Big hugs, xoxo

  10. Easter is early this year too, so I imagine SOON I'll start thinking spring even if we are still covered in a deep blanket of snow up 'round here!

  11. Oh funny! You are prepping for Spring and we got another round of snow last night. But we are totally digging the Alaska weather. Ooh, and the Iditerod kicks off this weekend. We need the snow for the puppies :-)

Your decor does make me long for flowers blooming, trees budding, and kids running through the yard.

Seeing the Fleur de lis makes me think of Louisville, KY. They were all over the place in that city. Takes me back to some fun years of memories while living there, thank you for that :-)
