Monday's Musings

We've had such a fun past few days around here.
Tommy's sister and her husband from Atlanta came for a visit.  Susan had her 50th class reunion Saturday evening and that was part of the reason for their visit.  I think they were probably one of the best looking couples at the event. ~and I'm not biased~ wink!

On Friday evening we enjoyed some family time with the kids.  The fish were biting and the girls had such fun reeling their catches in.  Tommy and Steve got in the little boat and puttered around and didn't catch a thing but enjoyed watching the girls and hearing their squeals.  It's so neat how the clouds are reflected in the pond.  Susan and I took it all in from the patio.

On Saturday we left early to attend the May Madness Festival on our downtown square.  It has been many many years since our city has hosted an event such as this.  The downtown merchants and other interested folks began planning it over a year ago.

There was something for everyone, vintage items, home decor, live plants and homemade dolls.

There was an old car show, metal work of all kinds, and

signs of all descriptions.  I had to laugh when I read both of these.

A local gal had one of the neatest booths there.  She will take clothing from a person's deceased loved one and make them either a memory bear or a pillow.  I think it is such a cleaver idea and her work is perfection.

It has been a fun filled last 4 days and the weather could not have been more picture perfect.  It made for a great family visit and we are thankful for these fun times together.  Of course, it would have been even better if our daughter and her family could have joined in the fun.  But...........

Have yourself a great new week!

  4. I remember when we used to have a day when all the stores on the square would have sidewalk sales. Can't remember what it was called back then, though. Looks like a fun time and that it coinsided with the reunion was a good idea. And yes, I agree on the best-looking couple.

  5. I love those kinds of bears. My family used my Great Grandmother's bedspread in order to have a bunch of bears made years ago. They turned out great, and are so sweet!
