It was quite the weekend at our house! We had one last birthday bash on Saturday evening with some of our buddies and we had big time storms yesterday afternoon and into the evening. We live on a hill and have no trees to speak of so the wind can be a force to be reckoned with. But, on to the birthday finale.......
Our group often enjoys eating segregated and so that's the way I did it for Saturday's dinner. I'm betting you can tell by the pictures which table setting was the guys and which was the gals. I'm no professional when it comes to tablescapes, but I thought both tables looked celebratory. Our menu was cheesy mexican spaghetti, slaw, french bread and coconut cake. A simple but very tasty meal.
I didn't even try to put 70 candles on the cake for fear that the cake might cave in. ~chuckle~ So, I put the glittery numbers and 10 candles representing 7 years each and it worked beautifully. And, Hubs had enough hot air to blow them out. ~belly laugh~
I got out my super duper selfie stick to get this picture. It only took 3 tries and I'm so thankful for the timer on the new phone cameras. That really helps! This is some of the folks that "we do life with" and we feel most blessed to call them friends, dear friends.
A little closer look!
Entertainment for the big celebration was Karaoke. I gave Hubs his very own machine for his birthday. He had mentioned one day not too long ago that he would like to have one and I jumped on it like a "chicken on a June bug" since I had no idea, at that time, what I was going to give him. I'll just say that he has already had a good time with it and it provided great entertainment for his "birthday finale."
So, the birthday celebration is officially OVER!!!! We've pretty much been celebrating the entire month so I think it's time we move on. And, Tommy feels very celebrated for sure!!!
Looks like a wonderful celebration! Hope you get some rest this weekend, dear Lea.
