Ta-da, it's the Wednesday Hodgepodge..............
1. April is Lawn and Garden Month. On a scale of 1-10 what's the current state of your lawn and/or garden. (10=a showpiece, 1=send in the professionals). Tell us about any lawn or garden plans you have for this month.
Since our yard and landscaping is only a year old it would be real close to a 10 I think. The plants do need some maturing but little by little they are getting bigger and more showy. Hubs absolutely LOVES a beautiful yard and he sees that it is always in order. It is one of his most favorite things and I'm really glad as I do think a pretty landscape adds so, so much to the beauty of a house.

2. "Many things grow in the garden that were never sown there."~Thomas Fuller What does this quote mean to you?
It means pesky weeds to me! Our landscape designer went to great lengths to take every precaution against them but we still have some. He put down some kind of mixture to kill weeds and then he used ground fabric in every bed that is suppose to prevent weed growth. So, not sure what else could be done. And, we don't have an over abundance but I'm just surprised me have any. Now, I'm betting there will be all kinds of interesting answers to this question, all in how someone interrupted the question and that's what keeps the HP so interesting. ~just saying~
3. What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think about God?
How absolutely undeserving I am of HIS gift of eternal life.
4. If we were chatting in person, how would I know if you were nervous?
Hummm......I'm not generally nervous when chatting with anyone but I would likely be very aloof.
5. Do you like the color yellow? Would I find any in your home or wardrobe? Daffodils, tulips, roses, sunflowers, day lily, black eyed susan...which yellow bloom on this list is your favorite?
Yes, I do like the color yellow but I'm not sure I have any in my home and none in my wardrobe. I would definitely wear a soft yellow but it's hard to come by. I love daffodils as they are the sign of spring to me and I'm always so glad when they show their faces.
6. Flip flops or bare feet?
Oh, I've never, ever gone bare footed, so it's flip flops for me. I don't even like to go barefooted to the bathroom at night. I just cannot stand my bare feet touching any surface uncovered. As a result, I have very tender feet. The gal that does my pedicure says that I have the softest feet of anyone she has ever done because they really don't have any callouses to speak of and I'm big on taking care of my feet. Have mercy, that was wayyyyy more info that you cared to know.

7. Tell us about any Easter plans, celebrations, or traditions you'll carry out this month.
We will celebrate with the girlies and their parents on the Saturday before Easter. We'll enjoy dinner and then hunt a few eggs and the Easter Bunny may leave a little happie or two for them. On Easter they will join their other cousins at our DIL's Mom's house for lunch and a big egg hunt. Not exactly sure what the Hubs and I will do after worship but we have some plans in the works.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
What is it that's so very hard about the word "wait?" It's all in HIS timing and HE knows best, even though we sure do wonder at times. Your random, inspirational thought for the day. ~smile~
I love the last quote. Waiting is excruciating for me. I try so hard to be patient. Have a great week, Lea.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more on thoughts on waiting! Enjoyed your hodgepodge as always. I am sure your yards are beautiful. Wishing you and yours a blessed Easter!
ReplyDeleteGood morning, sweet Lea! What a joy to read your post today. I was just saying to another blogger that I really must join in on Hodge Podge Wednesday sometime :)
ReplyDeleteWishing you a blessed day! Hugs to you!
Yes, my dear Stephanie...you really should! :)
DeleteHappy Easter to you and Mr. T. Enjoy those precious little girls.
ReplyDeleteTruly our husbands have got to be related : ) Have fun with your grandgirls, and happy Easter to you!
ReplyDeleteMy yard could definitely use a professional. Little by little, I'm hoping to spruce it up. And I love how fresh the color yellow is.
ReplyDeleteI agree, your yard should be a 10. All the smart people today saying "weeds", I never thought of that! My feet are pretty tough from going barefoot which includes callouses. Enjoy your Easter.
ReplyDeleteI think we need a post on your foot care routine!
ReplyDeleteOh I was hoping we'd get a glimpse of your beautiful lawn. Isn't it great that your husband loves taking such good care of it? Easter plans sound fun and a little mysterious, too. =D
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed all of your answers, Lea and I especially your random thought....it is certainly easier to say but harder to do, isn't it? I hope the rest of your week is blessed!
ReplyDeleteLike you, I am most definitely not a person to go barefoot.
ReplyDeleteYour answer to #3 is so perfect -- we are indeed so completely undeserving of His gift of salvation!
Hi Lea, it's nice to meet you! Thanks for stopping by my blog and introducing yourself. I think these hodgepodges are great fun, and one of these days I've got to join in!
ReplyDeleteI love going barefoot. Which is probably why they have to work so hard on my feet when I go in for a pedicure -- haha!
