It's Friday folks and I'm not sure where the week has gone, but it has sure flown by. 'Tis the season and the holiday buzz is in full swing.
About a week ago I decided to treat myself to a relaxing facial. I had never had one and it was so enjoyable. My nail gal (also my Vietnamese daughter) is now a distributor with NuSkin and she used all their products for my facial. I was certainly more than a little impressed. The facial spa machine is amazing. I felt refreshed and invigorated when I left and my skin felt silky smooth and tight.~wish it would stay that way~

A friend and I went to a great holiday show last weekend. I wish I had somewhere to use all that was there, such as these adorable wood cut outs. There was great looking shabby chic furniture and accessories and while I like it, it is not my style. I did come home with a pretty handmade necklace and earrings and some homemade breads. It was just fun to be there, visit with the vendors and see folks we had not seen in a while. It was the perfect way to kick off the Christmas season.

And, I'm happy to report that my presents FINALLY did get wrapped. It really did not take all that long, it was just getting started that took so long. I did have a pain between my shoulder blades afterwards but it was short lived and I'm a happy gal to have this behind me.

Hubby is in the process of having cataract surgery. I say in the process because he has had one eye done and will have the other one done this next Tuesday. Generally cataract surgery is a fairly routine procedure but Tommy's first one had a little hiccup and it took quite a bit longer. But, he's doing well, seeing great out of that eye and looks like all is going to be just fine. The first 24 hours were a little unsettling and once again I was reminded that "it's only routine if it's not happening to you." Hopefully the next eye will be very routine with no hiccups. We've spent way more time than either one of want to sitting in the Drs. office. Ugh, just not fun at all! ~ it's a necessary evil~

This Sunday will be a very special day in the life of our family. Our Hanna Beth ~our Princess~ will be baptized during her church's morning worship service. She is a bit nervous and would much prefer to be baptized in private rather than in front of a church full of folks. But, this CiCi's heart will be so full of joy over her decision to accept Christ as her Savior and follow Him in baptism. There is no more important decision she will ever make in her life.

I teared up reading your granddaughter will be baptized, there is no greater joy than that! Praise the Lord for her faithful obedience and I know she will bless so many with her public profession! YAY! PS I got your Christmas card and absolutely loved it! Thanks for sending one to me, I had all the warm fuzzies! xoxo ERIN
ReplyDeleteI had cataract surgery last year and was amazed at how everything "white" was so much brighter - and I MUST wear sunglasses in the sun! It was all worth it as I only need glasses for reading now!. Congrats to your granddaughter, what a special time for her and your family! Enjoy the season!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your granddaughter's baptism. How special that it will be shared with the whole congregation.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the craft fair was fun. I used to sell in those for years but got really burned out doing it. HOWEVER, this week I have been handcrafting snowmen/girls for the first time in YEARS! lol
Hope you have a great weekend. xo Diana
That's beautiful that you'll be there for your Granddaughter's baptism. Hope your Husband's 2nd surgery goes well.
ReplyDeleteAnd aren't Christmas Markets fun, even when we don't buy.
So sweet to have her baptism right here at Christmas! Looking forward to seeing it!
ReplyDeleteLea, this might be my favorite post of the day! Watching your little ones be baptized is just so special. So happy (and jealous) your packages are alll wrapped. Did you get a haircut? It's looks beautiful! Have a blessed weekend!!!
ReplyDeleteOh Lea what a blessing to share that special day with your family. And to know that your two oldest grands have made that most important decision. God is good and faithful. Loved seeing those beautiful little girl faces on the Christmas card. Thank you.

Yay!!! So happy she's getting baptized. Definitely a "Thank you Jesus" moment every time one of our loved ones makes that choice. I love that you got your wrapping all done... I'm hoping to have mine done this coming week. Enjoy your weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful day tomorrow will be for you and your family! It is the most important decision for everyone: whether or not they accept God's gift of grace or not.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to your granddaughter and to you on her special day!
xo,

Lea I always so enjoy your posts! How exciting to see your sweet granddaughter follow the Lord in baptism! A real joy. I've never had a facial but they DO sound wonderful! How fun -- yeah, wish the result could last forever haha! Your gift wrapping pictures are ADORABALE - you are so cute! Happy Monday to you!
ReplyDeleteYour comment/quote about things being routine only if they are not happening to you -- how true!!! My hubby's cataract surgery had some hiccups, too, but now, he's fine. I am praying this second surgery for Tommy goes well without any complications at all.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your granddaughter Lea. What a exciting day. You look so cute there wrapping presents. So glad your Scarlett is arriving. Facials are always a pleasure. Merry Christmas.
