It's December 1st and I loved that we had a week after Thanksgiving before December made it's entrance. I do not like it when Thanksgiving falls in the last week and "bam" it's December two days later.
I have managed to get our home "decked and dazzled" this past week and I'm most pleased. As you will be able to tell, it is very, very simply done without much fuzz at all. Just the way I like it at this stage in my life.
The wreaths on the windows have battery operated lights and I found the cute striped pillows at Home Goods while we were in Memphis. I love them! With the porch lights on at night it is all very pretty and warm and welcoming.
Our tree is in our wide foyer next to the dining room. The picture on the left was taken in a dark room and the one on the right was in daylight. It's decorated with silver and white mercury glass ornaments and truly is very elegant in person.
This is the dining table and sideboard. You can see how well the tree goes with the total look of that area. Added note: I love these candle rings from Grandinroad. They have them for all seasons of the year and I think I have them all (5 to each set).
Some other added touches
These four little vignettes grace the living area of our home. I have had the Mr. and Mrs. Santa for many, many years and it is one of my favorite decorations. I know that neither of my children will want much of this type decor when I go to my eternal home but I really hope one of them will want this. ~big smile~
And, this is our less formal dining table decor. I absolutely love this beaded runner from Pier 1. I think I now have one of these for each season too. I enjoy having some live poinsettia's and they are the perfect addition to this beautiful runner.
So, there you have it. Simply stated, none that's Pinterest worthy, but it's ours and I'm most happy with it. And, that's what matters. ~chuckle~
Happy 1st day of December to you and may the days ahead fill your hearts to full and overflowing of "the reason of the season"
Blessings abundant!

ReplyDeleteLea, Your home is lovely and you've done a beautiful job of decorating. Those pillows on the porch are so cute. I was already going to ask if the candle rings were from Grandin Road before I read they were. I got a set (actually 2), a wreath and mantle swag all to match one year for a STEAL! Love them. Happy Weekend sweet lady! XO
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful, all of it (especially the beaded runner). That Mr and Mrs Santa are truly special. I've never seen anything quite like them.
ReplyDeleteYour home looks beautiful. Everytime I see your Mr. and Mrs. Santa, it tickles me. I remember a few years back you telling the story of how you bought them many years ago and it is fascinating how every year, you say you and your husband resemble them more and more! That story just cracked me up!! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteLea, your home looks lovely. Love the dazzle. The battery lights are so great! Mr. & Mrs. Santa are so adorable. I do hope one one of your children take them. Grandin Road has some awesome candle rings. Lea, by all means, join our Traveling Tote group. We have 1 spot left. Happy Holidays.
ReplyDeleteLea, I love your elegant and simple decorations. I really love your Mr. & Mrs. Santa!!! Hope you have a great weekend.

Just beautiful! I love that beaded runner and the white beaded ornament pillow on the bench. Everything looks lovely - I'm a HUGE fan of the 'skinny' trees! I'll be your porch looks lovely lit up at night with the lighted wreaths. Can't believe Christmas is so close but don't we say that every year?? I just put my packages in the mail and all that's left to do is for us to get our tree. We get a live tree lately but always a very small one. Downsizing meant it was best to lose the big tree box we had to store lol.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! We've been away so I'm way behind.
ReplyDeleteYour decorations look lovely! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....
ReplyDeleteLea it all looks so very lovely. I am a big Santa fan so your Santa's caught my eye. Matter of fact my three daughters told me that I really didn't need any more Santa's. LOL! Anything poinsettia is so pretty to me. Simple for me this year as well. It just seems that it takes so much time to do anything and I have struggled with TIME even with working only part time. But one thing is for sure. Whether I decorate or not Christmas times a coming. Hugs and blessings to you.
