It's time for the Blended Blog questions, holiday style. I really enjoy linking up for this and this one was especially fun.
1. Real or Fake Tree? Well, I like to say I have a faux tree and have for over 25 years. I love them and do not miss having a real one in any way.
2. Favorite Christmas
Cookie?
I'm not sure it's considered a Christmas cookie per say, but the Peanut Butter Cup Cookie. They are made with miniature peanut buttter cups. It has been many a year since I've made them, so I may have to give them a whirl this year since we've had this discussion. ~smile~ I mean, what's not to like about peanut butter and chocolate!

3. Home on Christmas
Morning or Travel? We are home except we usually go over to our son and DIL's for breakfast and see what Santa left the girlies. After that we are home the remainder of the day.
4. Clear or Colored
Lights? It would be clear, just like the stars.
5. Send Christmas
Cards? I have always sent Christmas cards but have given thought to stopping. They are expensive and they are soooo time consuming. This year's are done and about to be mailed so I'll decide between now and next year what I'm going to do or not do.
6. Favorite Christmas
Present Received?
I have received many favorite gifts but the year I got a Chatty Cathy doll stands out as one of my most favorite memories. Times were very hard for my parents financially that Christmas, so our next door neighbors gave this doll to me. They did not have any children and loved me and my brother dearly. They made sure that we got what we really wanted for Christmas that year. I'll never forget their kindness. Added note: pictured above is the exact Chatty Cathy that I got and still have to this day. I had her reworked about 10 years ago and she looks so good. I did not have her voice box replaced so she is not "chatty" anymore but she is a real treasure.

7. Favorite Christmas
Present Given? Humm........I've scratched my head for long enough on this one and cannot think of one I love giving gifts and think they are all my favorite. ~smile~
8. Stockings or no
stockings? I use to make a big production out of stockings but not anymore. I would fill upbig Christmas buckets in lieu of stockings and they were crammed full of all kinds of fun stuff.
9. Christmas PJ's? Not for me but the Grans generally have them.~they look cute in them~
10. Favorite Christmas
carol? Joy to the World, it's so powerful and I love the words.
11. Favorite Holiday
Tradition? For pretty much as long as I can remember I have had a birthday party for Jesus.I do it whenever we have our family Christmas which is generally on Christmas Eve. It became even more special once the Grans came along.
12. Early Shopper or
Last Minute? Definitely an early shopper. I want it done by Dec. 1 and I wish there were little fairies that would show up to wrap them. ~big chuckle~
13. Favorite Christmas
Movie or Show?
There are a lot of great Christmas movies and shows but the first one to come to my mind was, "It's a Wonderful Life."

14. Favorite Holiday
Beverage?
Holiday or no holiday, it's always coffee for me! Now, I wouldn't mind having a candy cane thrown in for a little peppermint flavoring, but I do love me some coffee!

Wishing you wonderful new week!
My family loves the PB Blossoms, too, and I am so happy to have gotten all of my shopping done this weekend! No on to wrapping!
ReplyDeleteNow on to wrapping!
DeleteThis was a really fun read, Lea! I love your answers and you and I have very similar ideas on many things. What's the old saying? Great minds think alike! lol
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week. xo Diana
Loved this Lea! I adore the Chatty Cathy story, a treasure indeed! Guess what, I have a candy cane in my coffee as we speak! Hope your day starts off super with good coffee and festive thoughts! xo
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up...my mom always called me Chatty Cathy- neat to see where the name comes from- I always thought she made it up.
ReplyDeleteI knew you were my kind-a girl Lea. Who doesn't love PB & Chocolate??? I sure do (and so does my dad❤️) Your sweet Chatty Cathy story is just darling. Is Chatty Cathy the doll from the Brady Bunch? LOL These link ups are so fun. Love reading all about your Christmas. XO
ReplyDeleteSorry, Lea, my vision went blurry when I spotted those peanut butter cup cookies. After that I couldn't concentrate on anything else! Where have they been all my life??? Now I know what I'll be dreaming about tonight! Have a wonderful week, Lea.
ReplyDeleteI can’t believe you have kept the doll all these years. It definitely speaks to how special it was to you. And such a sweet story of love and generosity by your neighbor angels. And yes, those cookies are seasonal favorites.
ReplyDeleteI had a Chatty Cathy doll too! Oh my gosh, great memory! My first year with married kids and I'm trying to decide if I still do stockings for them. One couple will be spending the night - does that factor? ha. Such a dilemma. ;)
ReplyDeleteFun blog post! My brother-in-law grew up on a farm, so he and his siblings left out cookies and milk for Santa, and outside they provided hay and carrots for the reindeer!
ReplyDeleteMy answers are similar to yours but I haven't tried peppermint in my coffee. Sounds good.
ReplyDeleteWe have always traveled for Christmas the majority of the time.
One tradition I've had for years is to make a Spritz Christmas tree cookie. My grown children expect them. I've learned to triple the recipe even though it takes forever, because my husband sneaks one at a time out of the freezer!
