It's the first Monday of February and that means it's answering questions with The Blended Blog gals and their link up. It's all things Valentine and since it's one of my favorite holidays I thoroughly enjoyed answering them.
1. Kisses or Hugs? Well, kisses are saved for Hubby and the Grans, but I do love hugs from most anyone, especially if they are special to me. There's something so warm about a hug.
2. Candy or Flowers? I'll take flowers, it's just fun to have fresh flowers sitting nearby once in a while.
3. Baking or
Cooking? It would be baking, not that I do that much of it, but I really enjoy baking, especially for special occasions.
4. Do you remember
your first kiss? I sure do. I was in 4th grade and it was after a Sunday evening service and we ran back behind the church and sneaked a peck. AND, don't forget, my Dad was the pastor. ~laugh~
5. Favorite color of
Roses? Pale pink or yellow with deep pink tips.
6. Conversation
Hearts, yes or no? NO, just way over rated as far as I'm concerned but I sure did eat my fair share when I was a kid.
7. Do you leave love
notes? Not really
8. Do you decorate for
Valentine’s Day? I have a few decorations but did not get them out this year but sometimes I do. Guess it just depends on my mood after I get Christmas decor down.~smile~
9. Red or Pink? Pink, reminds me of something soft and squishy.
10. Milk, White or
Dark Chocolate? Milk chocolate and most especially in Godiva. ~yummy~
11. Do you
believe in love at first sight? Well, I guess I do as I met my husband when I was 13 years old and he was 19 and I told my Mom and Dad that one day I was going to marry him. He loves to tell that he waited for me to grow up and then we dated a few times and tied the knot not long afterwards.
12. Do you give
Humorous or Serious Valentine Cards? I have cards for my Grans and I would say they are fun cards that I feel they will get excited about when they open them. That's generally the only Valentine cards I send.
13. Favorite Chick
Flick or Romantic Movie?
I have seen a whole lot of movies over my lifetime but few can compare to either Gone With the Windy or The Sound of Music, both, to me, very romantic with a whole lot of other "good stuff."

14. Stay In or Go
Out?
Well, not sure if this refers to eating or just day to day activities. So, I'll just address both. I have never minded being at home and thoroughly enjoy the time I am at home. With that said, I also love getting out, even doing errands, but especially socializing with folks in my day to day outings. As to eating, Hubby and I eat out a good bit at this point in our lives but we both enjoy eating at home. I'd say we are at about 50/50 on this.

Love your big heart at the bottom! So the story of you and your husband is definitely my favorite part of this post. That's just crazy and so sweet. But seeing as how you were "kissing" in 4th grade, it's a good thing you spied him when you were 13...LOL Happy Monday sweet Lea!!! XOXO
ReplyDeleteGotta watch out for those wild pastor's daughters hahaha! How wonderful though to have that long-standing history together.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your answers today. I would have gone with the love at first sight too. We met 53 years ago tomorrow on a blind date in New Orleans.

ReplyDeleteLoved your little first kiss admission. I think my hubby had his first kiss during fellowship time at his house. ;)
ReplyDeleteLots of your answers are mine too:) I really don't mind staying in on any given day, but like to eat out occasionally for no reason. I really don't remember my first kiss, I wish I could. Must not have been very exciting:) Enjoy your evening dear friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteMy fav chick flick/romantic movie is Sense and Sensibility; and I'll take the roses over chocolates (although BOTH would do nicely!).
ReplyDeleteIt's a week early for this, but Happy Valentine's Day!
Cute answers! I had my first kiss at a church youth group lake party, and broke my toe the same night. I'll never forget either!
ReplyDeleteI think it's so awesome that you got to meet your husband at such a young age! Truly a lifetime together!
ReplyDeletePale pink roses are so pretty! I've never seen Gone With The Wind, but Sound of Music is one of my very favorites.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your musings, Lea!
ReplyDeleteWe have a special dinner at home for Valentine's Day! My husband is a great cook and always prefers eating at home. He does enjoy fine dining, however, in a nice restaurant and we should do it more often.
I've just recently started looking for funny cards for my husband because after 40 plus years ,I finally caught on he likes them!
Fun answers, Lea! What a sweet story about you and your hubby. My first kiss was from my across the street neighbor's nephew. We lived in OH and he lived in West VA and came to visit often. He was a few years older than me and when you are a 14 year old girl, that's a WAY older man...so I had this crush on him. It was Christmas time and he was going around holding mistletoe over his head, giving out kisses! He had gotten a job where my hubby wound up getting a job and years and years later, after both of our families transferred here to NC, he and his wife and family had already been in this very town for years. Long story short, we wound up in the same church and became BEST of friends and did many things together as couples! Are you confused yet?? LOL!
ReplyDeleteLove the story about meeting your husband when you were 13, and knowing you wanted to marry him. How sweet is that? Especially since it came true! Love chocolate and hugs and roses too! xo Deborah
