HELLO Monday!

It's another Monday and it's Memorial Day.  Not sure what your plans are, but certainly hope everyone enjoys the day celebrating in their own way.  For now, it's about
Hello Monday............

Hello ............Goodbye..........
This picture was taken last week as Clancy was enjoying a swimming party held in his honor.  The lady that has kept him for the past 3 years had a little going away "splash party" for him and needless to say, he was a happy boy.  And, probably didn't fully realize that he was about to leave all that was familiar to him. But, thankfully he is so adaptable and makes friends easily.  I'm sure it won't be long that he'll feel very comfortable calling Mt. Pleasant, home. They will be moving into their new place this next week.

Hello Tea Room...........
My friend, Gerri and I went to Shreveport this past Friday and had a little "girl fun."  Some of that fun was having lunch at this wonderful Tearoom.  The tables are covered in old quilts, the dishes are a hodgepodge of various patterns of China and the same with the flatware.  It was quite obviously a very favorite place for the ladies in Shreveport.

Hello Strange Jeans.........
I saw these in a shop the other day and wasn't really sure what they were exactly.  I asked the sales clerk, who was standing behind the counter, and she stepped out and proudly showed me that she had these on.  They are a jean and are fringed from the top of the knee down.  And, as you can tell, absolutely full of holes and frays.  Oh, me!  I didn't share my thoughts with the young clerk but I thought they were some of the tackiest things I had ever seen.  Who on earth sits around and dreams up fashions like this?  Obviously they need something else to do. ~big smile~

Hello New House..........
Signing the papers on the purchase of the lot in April 2012
In April of 2012, Hubby and I bought a lot to build our next house on.  It is on a hill,  just about 4-5 miles from where we currently live. It is a small, small subdivision with about 15 home sites.  Our lot backs up to a small pond and we both liked the idea of having water nearby.  These past two years have been spent praying, pondering and deciding what our next house would be.  One thing that wasn't hard to decide, it is going to be one story.  We have lived in a two story house the past 33 years and that is wayyyyyyyy long enough!  We debated and debated about the size and neither of us were quite ready to scale back as much as we probably should.  We've always had a lot of room and looks like we will continue to have a lot of room. But we are scaling back on the amount of yard.  We currently have about an acre and a half of "kept" yard.  We will have about 1/3 that amount at our new house.  That is going to be a very good thing. Construction will begin this week and we are so excited and of course, I'll definitely be keeping you updated with pics and details as we go along. ~I know you can't wait~ We are praying for "smooth sailing."

In closing I want to thank each of you for your comments and words of encouragement regarding my post this past Friday.  I was overwhelmed by the response to that post.  My email and FB messages have been filled to the brim with folks sending me private messages of how it had inspired them.  I am so grateful that the Lord is using my journey in such a positive way, not only in my life but in others lives as well.  If you missed it, you can find it here.

  1. What an exciting adventure you're starting on! I love the look and feel of a two-story home, but I know that when DH and I looked to buy 6 years ago, we were adamant that we wanted a one-story home. ;-)

  8. I am so glad you visited my friend Sharon's tearoom. She is one of the most precious Christian ladies and I am honored to call her my good friend. The Glenwood Tearoom is delightful and yes, a very special place for many Shreveport ladies. I was glad to read that Bridget and family have found the perfect home already. Now, about your new place. I didn't know you were so close to making that decision, but am so excited for you. We will just have to have a new house tour with you and Gerri one of these days.

  9. How exciting on the new home! I am soo looking forward to seeing the project as it comes along. Yes, I was glad to get rid of the two story home too, and wish we hadn't downsized quite so much when we bought this last time. Soo personally I think that is a good decision. Hope your week is a good one!
