I made a pot of white chili (recipe on the back of the McCormick's White Chili seasoning packet) one day for dinner and then last evening I made a big pot of pinto beans and grilled a pork tender. I wish I could tell you that I cook every day and that we have a wonderful meal each evening for dinner. But, I cannot lie. Since it is now just Hubby and I, we often go to the local "dive" and grab a bite. Often, it's just for the sake of having something to do when the days are so short. I bet you younger folks are reading that and thinking that you cannot imagine going out to eat just to have something to do. ~chuckle~ Hang in there, your day will come!
I have almost finished going through and storing memoribilia from my Mom. I love the feeling of completing a project! Yea!
Speaking of Grandchildren.......I had the privilege of keeping our Granddaughter yesterday and enjoyed her so much. She is growing so fast, almost 12 pounds now, and has the cutest little "belly laugh" that I love to hear. We rocked and talked and had a good time. All too soon she will be grown, so I cherish these times to "love and cuddle" her.
Yes, it has been a great week and high-lited with my Bible Study homework from "Living Beyond Yourself" study. Our verse to remember is : "But the Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. Against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:23
Happy week-end!
Thanks for stopping by! I agree that human nature is a huge factor with how we deal with criticism. In my particular case, it was my MIL and it was done in love. It hurt to hear the disappointment, but I am so glad she was willing to risk the hurt! I have a better perspective because of it!
ReplyDeleteI love the VDay wreath in your kitchen - it's beautiful! Did you make it?
Enjoy your grandbaby! Don't spoil her too much. ;)
I remember going to Zeller's for something to do when I had just one child (and now I have three ... and LOTS to do!), so I understand your need to go out for a meal for something to do. It's also nice to just get out, regardless :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy being a grandmother - my mom has been visiting us once a week (pretty much) since my eldest was born almost 5.5 years ago. We visit their place more now, but it's so nice knowing that my kids get to know my parents as they grow up.
Thanks for stopping by my blog, too ;)
The Valentine's decor is very pretty! Grandchildren are great, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteOur Bible study was also focusing on the fruits of the spirit. We were committing to gentleness for the week. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSounds like an incredible week! I would LOVE one like that right now! I am praying things will settle down after Science Fair but I am not convinced they will! There must be a better way!
ReplyDeleteLove your decorations! I wish I had even a tiny bit of decorating gene in me...but I have none! I am just excited if you can see my island!
Have a great weekend and enjoy cuddling that grandbaby!
