I know, I know, it's just February 18th, but I just cannot help myself. I'm already getting "Spring Fever." We have had the most gorgeous spring like weather and well, it's just sent me plum "over the edge" with excitement about spring. I'm ready to get out and play in the dirt and pot some pretty plants, and get our patio all decked out. Even my wind chimes have been singing "spring" this week.
Last Sunday afternoon we had our family Valentine celebration. I had the kids and grans over for a fun dinner and the weather was so nice that we actually stayed outside for a good long while. Both grans would rather be outside than eat when they were hungry. We let them, swing, pulled them in the wagon and introduced them to the Plasma Car.
They are not quite ready for it, so we adults decided that we would "give it a whirl." The kids wanted me to get on it and I had no better sense than to do it and here's what I looked like.
I know, a pure "dork." But, hey, we were making memories! And, even if I had fallen off, it wasn't but about 5 inches to the ground. ~smile~
This Sunday evening will be our first session of "One in a Million" by Priscilla Shirer. I'm so excited about it and we had 28 ladies sign up to participate.
Hubby's sister and her husband will be in town this weekend from Tacaoma, WA. and we'll get to spend some time with them. Our siblings are so spread out across this country that it is always a privilege when it works out for us to get to be with one of my Hubby's sisters or one of my brothers. We have siblings in Tacamoa, DesMoines, Atlanta and near Washington, D.C. Whatever happened to the days of families all living nearby?
And, just want you gals to know that the ladies of our church are in for a real treat! The Women's Ministry of our church has a Ladies Spring Event each year and we always have a guest speaker. Well, take a guess as to who is going to be our guest speaker this year. None other than our very own Rachel!!! Can you believe? I wish that all of the Company Girls could come, but I assure you we will enjoy her enough for all of you. ~smile~

Remember to live everyday of your life!

How fun! All of it! I couldn't get the blog hop link because of some javascript issue but I hope I can get it to work later. Our beautiful sunshine got swapped out for rain this week...and a bit of hail. I guess we need the rain but it is tough to get around with little ones. I hope you enjoy that time with your family. I love that all my siblings and I are within 10 minutes of each other. But I guess distance does make the heart grow fonder. It is great that there are so many ways to stay connected nowadays though.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!
Sounds fun! I am loving you on the plasma car! Riley has a scooter like that and we had the best time playing on that thing when we went to the camp. I guess the car is a safer bet, not too much risk of injury on that!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could come to the women's thing...our spring break is the week before, shucks.
Have a great weekend, I didn't get a post up today...it has been a week and I just couldn't manage it but I am glad to at least get to check in on all the ladies!
Cute seeing you on that scooter!! Fun!
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be fun to have a bunch of CG's at your spring event?? I can't wait to see you in person.
the plasma car looks like too much fun! and i'm so impressed with you for joining in on the fun of it! patricia shirer is great - i did her "conversation peace" study and learned so much. have a great weekend with your sil!
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing! =) Love the pic of you on the plasma car!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the day!
That picture of you made me smile.
ReplyDeleteAnd Rachel is speaking at your retreat! How AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish I could be there.
Looks like valentines was a lot of fun(I have actually wondered what those plasma cars are like to drive) How lucky you are to have Rachel come and speak! Wish I could be there! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteBlessings
You look happy, not dorky! It's good to have fun and make memories. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a little jealous about you getting to meet and listen to Rachel Anne in person. Some day, even if only in heaven, I will meet her too.
Have a great weekend!
Melissa
I LOVE the picture of you on the scooter. Totally cracked me up today! Your bible study sounds fantastic! We just started Jonah last week and it is amazing. Let us know how your study goes and I will be praying for you this week.
ReplyDeleteOkay, now I want a plasma car too! Enjoy the retreat with Rachel. Also, thanks for stopping by my post and taking time to comment.
ReplyDeleteSounds like such a fun time. Just so you know it, a plasma car isn't just for kids, I think it is really made for grown ups to be able to get down to it and be kids again no matter the age.
ReplyDeleteMy local toy shoppe advertise them with "Fun for everyone between 5-99".
Enjoy the spring and get out and play some more :)
How exciting that you are going to hear Rachel Anne! You looked like you were having fun on the plasma car. Great memories for the kids!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your visit family visit!
Oh my goodness..if I got on that plasma car I prob wouldn't be able to get up!! You do look like you're having fun!! I'm so ready for spring...I'm afraid that we've got another couple of months before spring hits here!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! You are such a good sport! The women's retreat sounds great!
ReplyDeleteOh, that is so fun that rachel is coming to talk! Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteAnd, I love the wind whipping through your hair on that plasma car, girl. You got style!
Final thought -- I'm reading One in a Million, too. Would love to know your thoughts once you are into it.
I'm on the mend, by the way. Thanks for all your prayers!
You are just too cute on the plasma car!! What a priceless picture that those "grans" will love when they're older :) Enjoy your time with your SIL! Boy do I hear you loudly and clearly on family being spread out. I am praying my brother relocates in the near future and thankful that my husband has at least one sister who lives locally. I am the type that would be just fine with a family "compound", ha! I hope you're having a fabulous weekend and enjoy your Sunday! xoxo, Kelly
