Hodgepodge Wednesday

1. Would you rather be seen as a person who did their duty or forged their own path? Well, I think there is likely a place for both, but I suppose a person who has forged their own path has a certain admiration over one that has just done their duty.  I can't see that I've forged my own path, but I definitely do my duty and want to do it well and have always tried to do so.  So, whether I want to be seen that way or not, that's just the way it is and it's perfectly fine with me. ~smile~

2. This week's Wednesday Hodgepodge happens to fall on Groundhog's Day. In keeping with that theme, if you could have a do-over of any one day out of the last seven, which day would it be and why. If you haven't seen the movie Groundhog Day this question will make absolutely no sense but that's can answer anyway. I would love to have a "do over" of last Saturday. It was the most gorgeous day, sunshiny and 76 degrees. Hubby and I were outside most of the day working on projects and it renewed our spirits. The pansies were even happy! ~smile~

3. Hot cocoa...yay or nay on the marshmallows? It would be a nay for me, marshmallows make the cocoa too sweet for me.  But, hey, a cup of cocoa will likely be in order for this cold day we're having, with or without marshmallows.

4. Do you wear makeup every day? What are the top two must haves in your daily makeup routine? Oh, my goodness, YES!! Putting on makeup is just like getting dressed as far as I'm concerned.  I even got up my courage a few years ago and had permanent lipstick, lip liner, eyeliner (top and bottom) and eye brows done.  Just ask me how painful the permanent lipstick and lip liner was and I'll tell you that it was the most painful thing I've ever endured and I will not ever have it done again. The eyeliner and eye brows I have done twice and will likely do it several more times. It's not painless, but I can endure it. ~big smile~ They call it permanent, but it isn't.  It fades and if you want it to look natural, then you have to redo it about every 2-3 years.

My two "must haves" are lipstick and blush. These two items
are what put the color on one's face and bring it ALIVE!!! And, I've given my family strict instructions that they had better have both on my face when they bury me. ~big chuckle~ In the midst of their grief they'd better not forget. ~giggle~Oh, not so I can look alive (:o)) but gotta go out with color on my face. I know, how silly!

5. Is it more important to you in a relationship to be loved or understood? Oh, sorry but I have to be loved and understood.  Is that asking too much??? ~smile~

6. Parsley sage rosemary or thyme... your favorite?
I do not use any of them very often, but certainly use parsley more than any, so guess it would have to be my favorite. I love it's bright green color!

7. What do you do when you feel angry? It is a rarity for me to be angry but if I am I always try to remember "whose I am" and how He would react if He were me.  It really helps. I get aggravated a whole lot more than I get angry.

8. Insert your own random thought here. It was 28 months ago today that I became a CiCi and I will never forget  the moment I first laid my eyes on our little Clancy..........the nurse that was standing nearby when this  picture was taken, said, "a Grandmother has just been born." Aweeeeeeeee!

I'm linking up with Joyce today for Hodgepodge Wednesday. Click on the button above and enjoy yourself!

Welcome to my little corner!

  1. I'd like to have your do-over day here : )

    Sweet picture of 'grandma'!

  2. I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that photo of you meeting Clancy! And I admit that I'm a little envious. All my grands came 5+ weeks early and were transported to the NICU at the children's hospital in St. Louis, so I wasn't able to meet them as soon as I had hoped.

  3. I also love that picture of you with Clancy! And, I think you would be beautiful with or without make-up, but my husband being from Louisiana, I understand how the southern belle thing works! :)

  4. Nothing like being a grandmother! It's the best.

I'm impressed that you got permanent makeup. You're the first person I've heard of who did that. I am quite tempted... Was it expensive? And it hurt? I've also heard you can perm your eyelashes and dye them. Wonder if it'd be worth it?

  5. I enjoyed reading your answers.
    Such an adorable Grandma moment.

  6. Lea, you must blog on your perm make-up! I've been looking into having eyeliner for a while now. A friend I have has had it done and it looks fantastic! I don't want lip color or liner or eyebrows, just the eyeliner! So... what were the procedures? How long did it take? What was the pain level like? Was it expensive? Hmmm? LOL *hugs*

  7. Lea, I think you've mentioned about the make-up tattoos before...I don't know if I could do that, but it would be nice! I'm with you...I don't go anywhere without my make-up on! :)

  8. That photo with your grand child is unbelievable. She looks like she is straining around just to see her grandma. How old is she now?

  9. I sure never knew you had permanent makeup! You pulled a fast one there.....

So glad you were at choir! I love to visit, I love to sing, and I would love it more if I could sing purdy like you!

  10. WOW! I love that you had the courage to get your eyes and lips permanently done up! Go you!! What a timesaver too, eh?

Love the picture of you and the grandbaby. Soooo sweet!

Thanks for visiting my corner of the world today!

  11. congrats on 28 months of being a CiCi! : ) that's so sweet!

your lipstick and blush is too cute! every time i try to wear lipstick my honey says, what are you doing?! ha! it doesn't suit me like it does you. you make the lipstick! : ) you are a beauty!

i love the cocoa with marshmallows!

  12. Sweet picture of you becoming a grandmother. I find your permanent make-up very interesting. Loved reading all your answers. Enjoy the rest of your week.

  13. What a wonderful post-
I love learning about blog friends through these questions.
I loved your answer about doing your duty.
    I agree-
Why can't that be considered forging your own path too?

    White Spray Paint

  14. The picture of you and your sweet grandbaby is just breathtaking. It looks like something that was professionally done and I'm sure you will both treasure it for years to come.

  15. That picture of you w/ the grandbaby is PRecioUS! Looks like you're adoring each other;

As for your post, I'm the same way about make-up. I put make-up on even when I've got no plans to go anywhere. I just feel better.

So glad you stopped by and hope you enjoyed your visit. I love your comments and read each and every one of them and I always try to reply to them. Blessings to you this day!
