{1} I think a lot of bloggers, that use Blogger, think when they type their blog that the size of the font they have chosen is bigger than it is. I say that because when I first started blogging I would choose the "normal size." It certainly appeared plenty big when I typed my blog but when I published it, it was much smaller and hard for my 58 year old eyes to read. ~smile~ So, I started using the "large size" and it is just perfect. I am pretty sure that the size is reduced tremendously once the blog is published and therein lies the problem. I'm not sure why that happens, but as I was saying, some blogs are hard to read as a result. Sort of like this:
{2} I'm a "golfer's widow" again and do understand, I'm not complaining. Hubby loves to golf but lays it aside when hunting season opens in mid-Oct. And, even if he were not a hunter, he likely would not golf in the winter. He is definitely a "fair weather" golfer. But, this past week's weather gave him the "itch" and back to the course he went this week-end. I'm just so glad that I'm married to a man that has hobbies and it's something besides sitting around watching TV. ~smile~
{3} Hubby and I will be celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary with a cruise this summer. We will be boarding the Holland America ship, ms Maasdam, for a Canada/New England tour. We will add two days on the front and end of the cruise for sightseeing in Quebec and Boston. Wow! bet I'll have all kinds of blog fodder when we get back. We're excited that dear friends will be going with us. You know, everything's better and "funner" with friends. ~giggle~
{4} I was so thrilled to hear my sweet Dad's voice on the phone Saturday afternoon. He called to tell me that he and my step Mom had made it safely home from their nearly two week trip to Florida. Yep! my 81 year old Dad just got back from a fun filled time in Disney World. They did all the parks and went to Downtown Disney and took in the Cirque du Soleil one evening. Oh, how I pray I have inherited his genes! I bet most 81 year olds that even make it to Disney World are on a mobility scooter. I'm so thankful that he can still go and do and enjoy life! And, they drove! And, get this, they rode the "big Daddy" roller coaster at Animal Kingdom. Oh, my goodness! I'm sure sorry that I do not have a picture of that.~chuckle~

{6} I'll be having dinner for the family this evening. Of course, the girls are off today for President's Day and Hubby's sister and her husband are in town for a visit, so we'll all be "breaking bread" together this evening. I've baked another Blueberry Pound Cake for dessert and am making a 3-Cheese Chicken Casserole, Fruited Cream Salad and a green veggie. It should be a "hi-ho" good time for sure!
Thanks Carissa for making our Monday's a bit brighter by hosting Miscellany Monday! We "lub" you!
"Live everyday as if it were your last."
I have honestly never noticed the size of the font on my blog, hmmm, something to consider!
ReplyDeleteMy Daddy is an avid golfer...he has even sucked my mom in it a little bit. I just do not find enjoyment from beating that little ball to death!
Your cruise sounds fun. I have never been on one but my parents go on them frequently and LOVE them. They keep saying that in a few years, we are going to take the whole family on one for their 50th wedding anniversary.
I love that your Daddy went to Disney World and even rode the big coasters...sounds like my kinda guy! I can't even get Chris to ride the big ones with me! I feel certain that you got some of those genes!
Dinner sounds yummy, hope y'all have a great time! Blessings!
Love that your Dad went to Disney...praying too that you inherit his genes!! he should start a blog. :)))
ReplyDeleteGood for your dad and stepmom visiting WDW ... and rode the roller coaster!
ReplyDeleteWe've never done a cruise ... but the one you're taking sounds far more intriguing to me than the typical cruise to the Caribbean. We may have to look into that. ;-)
Have a marvelous Monday!
Always love your Monday posts. So exciting--40th Anniversary! And a cruise...I am super jealous! That is going to be so fun. I know you will enjoy every second of it :)
ReplyDeleteI cannot get over the fact that your dad went to Disney World...that is so wonderful! I love that so much! I'm glad they had a great time and got to experience the greatness that is Disney! I hope and pray I'm still loving life as much as he is at 81!
Yummmm, that dinner sounds fabulous! I'll be dining with a Lean Cuisine before work :) I'll pretend like I'm enjoying what y'all are having, though! Happy Monday!
The fonts are funny...but then again I have started to have to use readers, which I hate, so any help a blogger gives me is great.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your Anniversary, sounds wonderful.
Yes I wished we all didn't know or use the words "hurry" and "stressed"...but stressed spelled backwards is desserts...which you are having with your family
I love reading about your DAD....I hope I am like that at his age, or even when 55, 65, 75...more less over 80!!
So glad your dad is able to enjoy these years! Physical and mental strength are so important to be able to keep enjoying life.
ReplyDeleteAwww...Love the photo of your father and you, Lea!
ReplyDeleteI'm a deer widow so I get what you are saying - different season, same drill...:)
Dinner sounds divine? Do you think I can make it if I leave now? HA!
Enjoy!
Yes, I'm sure you inherited those good genes. I love the photo of you and your Dad. And good for him; nobody is too old to go to Disney World. :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings and love,
Debbie
I will be arriving with Natalie for dinner, too, so make sure you set out 2 extra plates. And I'll be having 2 helpings of dessert, too!
ReplyDeleteWe will be going to Disney World in November and I bet I'm just pooped when we get back. I'm sure your dad will put me to shame!
Cruises, Disney World...
ReplyDeleteHow Exciting!
I would enjoy dining with you.
Supper sounds so delicious!
When I read your posts I always forget that we have never really met....{hug} I love the picture of you and your dad and I did give a little giggle on your previous post with you on that little scooter ~ toooo cute! I'm so happy for you ~ 40 years! and a cruise! I can't wait to read all about it! wink! Blessings, EMichelle
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by today!
ReplyDeleteLet me say now:
C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S on #40!!!
That is just awesome! What a blessing that is to your children. I will be celebrating 18 in April.
I hope you had a great family dinner this evening:)
Doesn't the blogger font thing drive you crazy sometimes? I do run into some blogs that are hard for my "44 year old" eyes to see. But thankfully I can increase the size of it on my screen. So thankful your hubby enjoys his time golfing outdoors. Can I tell you how jealous I am of your soon-to-be cruise? I am hoping that hubby and I can take a cruise together one day. Your dinner sounds yummy! Hope you had a blessed day.
ReplyDeleteMy Daddy was a golfer - in any type of weather! He used to use neon yellow golfballs in the snow in the winter :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad your dad made it home safely from his trip to FL. I can't believe he rode that rollercoaster. How fun! He sounds like an amazing, amazing man.
Your summer trip sounds fabulous! I want to come with! I much prefer New England to the tropics. We've never cruised it but we have been up there too many times to count. You are going to have such a fabulous time and I can't think of a better way to celebrate! Can't wait to share in the pictures!
I hope your day ahead is a blessed one! xoxo, Kelly
Did you know that you can enlarge the text to read it without increasing the font size? Just hold down the CTRL key and then the "+" key as many times as you need to make it the size you want. I do it all the time. People under 40 don't understand our needs:)
ReplyDeleteYour anniversary trip sounds amazing!!! So excited for you! Your dad sounds young - what good jeans you have.
