I won't talk about today being July 8th (already) and how time is just passing way too fast. No, I won't do that, I'll just get straight with the program and share my miscellaneous thoughts with you this morning. Thanks Carissa, you are the bomb!!!
Be still my heart.......
You know, there are things in life that you have to just let go off and place in the hands of the Almighty. And, that's exactly what I'm doing with my little cowboy and this BIG horse. Heavens to Betsy! It's amusing to me that these Grandchildren cause me way more concern than my own children did. Our son was a big time skateboarder and I seldom, if ever, thought about "what could happen." Clancy is now riding Shug in the round pen by himself, yep, that's right. Now, his Daddy is right there but like he could stop that big horse if he had too. My daughter says that a horse is not going to take off running inside a round pen. So, I'm going to believe her and leave it at that. ~big sigh~
Those Formidible Women.......
Yes, those Formidible Women were at it again last week. We were celebrating mine and one of the other gals birthday (late for hers and early for mine). We took another day trip to Natchez. Natchez is such a lovely southern town and there is lots to keep 7 women busy for sure. The Main Street area is full of cute shops with all kinds of temptations and neat little restaurants. If I'm not mistaken I think we have been doing these fun trips for about 16 years. Wow, we were mere children when we started. ~chuckle~
Doesn't take much.........
That's right, when I saw this vase, urn, whatever you prefer to call it, I had to have it! I got plum excited because of it's color. I love turquoise but I have nothing in our home remotely turquoise. I knew of a spot in my kitchen that this would fit perfectly and would make a statement for sure! And, I was right and I'm enjoying the new little "spiff" that it brings. As I said, it doesn't take much! *Added note: I found this at a new little new shop here called, Southern Charm. Locals, you need to go and check it out!
These past 5 years........
I was just thinking about the past 5 years and all that has happened. The above picture was taken of my parents on their 58th wedding anniversary in April, 2008. (They wanted to take a spin in Hubby's advertising car) Little did any of us know that this would be their last anniversary. Mom went to be with the Lord on Dec. 1st after a massive stroke. Hubby's Mom also died that year. And, the list goes on and on of the life changing and life altering situations that have happened in our lives these past 5 years. It's all made me focus more on each day and to realize just how quickly our lives can change. Thought this quote said it best.........
Good morning! My grandma heart hears you for sure! My nerves just can't take what I didn't even give a thought to with my own. Your right, it IS a big horse, lol. Love the "urn"...And again, your soo right ~ NOTHING ever stays the same...my last 5 years brought massive change too. Enjoy this day!
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the fretting over the grands ... I, too, worry and fret over them. There was a big playground across the street from our old house, and I wouldn't take the Ts (there were only the 2 at the time, #1 and #2) because I worried too much about them climbing - and possibly falling.
ReplyDeleteAnd I hear you on change ... there has been a lot of change in my life in the last 6 months: DH's mom passed, my mom passed, DH's dad passed (all in a 5-month period), we've retired, we moved, we've added a couple of grands. Time brings changes ... and we need to cherish the time we have.
Oh, my, my, my, what a BIG horse for a little guy. Thankfully my experience tells me that most horses are gentle when children are on their back. And your daughter is right, the horse would not take off running in a round pen. Most likely thing is the horse might spook if someone leaves a jacket on the fence and it blows suddenly. I will probably drive my kids nuts worrying about my grands (as it would seem I'm questioning my kids' judgment as parents). The vase is gorgeous--turquoise has become my new fave color. And how time changes things. Wow.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about grandbabies. My is sitting with me now and crawling around on my bed. He will not stay in the middle and wants to play with my cat so I am scared he is going to get scratch and fall off the bed as I write this.
ReplyDeleteMommy is taking him outside to play. He is so cute though. I am glad you had fun with friends and family recently.
ReplyDeleteI see danger in most everything. Especially with the grand kids!
ReplyDeleteLove that vase, especially the color
And that is so true....life changes in the blink of an eye!
What a fun trip with the ladies :) I love horse back riding but haven't been in years. Your little guy looks like he is having lots of fun way up there!!
ReplyDeleteOh my that's a big horse for such a little tyke! Would have made me nervous. Looks like so much fun when you women get together, and that vase/urn is lovely! What a great photo of your parents! Have a blessed week!
ReplyDeleteYou know, it's funny being on the other side of the young child. It must be a grandma thing, because even as a first-time mom I think my mom and mother-in-law worry more than I do!
ReplyDeleteI love that urn! What a nice pop of color for the summer!
