It's Wednesday Hodgepodge and Joyce always has thought provoking questions for us. Sometimes I have to bend my brain a whole lot to come up with my answers but it's great exercise. ~smile~
1. What are two or three expectations you have of yourself?
1.To treat others as I want to be treated with respect and a measure of unconditional love.
2.To be a Christian witness in word and deed and have a heart for the lost.
3.To care for myself spiritually, physically and mentally as best I can.
FYI: I fail in all of these expectations but I continue to plug along
2. In what way does your outdoor space need sprucing up this spring?
Oh, my goodness! You might say that pretty much all of outdoor space needs sprucing up since we are awaiting our landscaping. We do have the grass down in the front of the house and Hubby and I have worked on the back porch and patio and it's taking shape. But, the rest is awaiting the landscape crew to come and work their magic. That will probably happen in April. The recent floods put our landscaper a bit behind.
3. According to this site (Roadtrippers), six of North America's most wondrous waterfalls are-Webster's Falls in Ontario, Upper Whitewater Falls in North Carolina, Havasu Falls in the Grand Canyon, Multnomah Falls in Oregon, The Lower Yellowstone Falls, and Niagara. Have you seen any on the list? Which one on the list would you most like to visit? Prettiest waterfall not on the list that you've seen in person?
Well, I have seen none of these but seeing any of them would be a treat. One waterfall that I have seen is Ruby Falls in Chattanooga, TN
4. Looking back, what's something you wish you'd done as a teenager?
I wish that I had applied myself more academically. I was satisfied with average and I'm pretty sure I could have done much better. I'm all about doing your best, if average is your best, so be it, but I don't think I did my best.
5. Ham...yes please or no thank you? If you said yes please which of the following do you like best-baked ham with all the trimmings, a ham and cheese sandwich, prosciutto with melon, a ham biscuit, a bowl of split pea and ham soup, or a slice of pizza topped with ham and pineapple?
I would not rate it as one of my favorite foods but I will take it with all the trimmings and smoked, please.
6. Are you typical of your generation? How so?
Well, kind of, sort of..............I still dress up for church and enjoy doing so and will even wear hose occasionally. ~the younger generation doesn't even know what hose are~ I enjoy being a lady, acting like one, dressing like one and behaving as one. Hearing yes mam and no mam is "music to my ears." I love the professional look and professional treatment of those I do business with. Need I go on?
7. April rolls in at the end of the week, and in keeping with that theme...'act the fool', 'nobody's fool', 'a fool's errand', 'could have fooled me'...which foolish idiom most recently applies to you? Explain.
On occasion I think "could have fooled me" might apply. At times people tell me things that are hard for me to believe and I have often responded with "you could have fooled me."
8. Insert your own random thought here.
I am a big fan of The Voice and think it is one of the best of its type show. It was just announced that Miley Cyrus and Alisha Keys will be judges for the 2017 season. I mean, are you kidding me??? Miley Cyrus, please. It's been bad enough watching her coach the contestants this season much less knowing she will be one of the judges next season. I will NOT be watching and I feel like the producers will definitely regret their decision. It will be like when American Idol had Nikki Manaja as a judge and she pretty much ruined the show. I am very disappointed!!!
~and I'm sure the producers really care~
~and I'm sure the producers really care~
I agree with your random thought.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your thoughts on Miley. Ugh. She doesn't have an ounce of class. I do love Alicia, though. Great talent and beautiful lady.
ReplyDeleteI'm completely with you, Lea, in regards to Miley Cyrus. I am not a fan. I've visited Ruby Falls several times and have never been disappointed. Hope your Wednesday is a great one!
ReplyDeleteI saw that about Miley and I couldn't believe it!
ReplyDeleteI haven't worn hose in a long time, but I still own them. Totally agree that Miley Cyrus will be a major regret for the producers. Don't they want respectable judges? I'm sure your landscaping will be beautiful when all's said and done. I'm looking forward to pictures.

ReplyDeleteYour comment about applying yourself more academically really struck me. I have always been an over achiever and it was really evident in my school years. But now I am the total opposite and happy to be the average joe.
ReplyDeleteoh me too! I do NOT want to watch Miley do ANYTHING! Very disappointing. Can't wait to see your landscaping, if and when the rains pass.
ReplyDeleteI am not a Miley fan in any way, shape, or form but I have to say I've been a little bit surprised at how helpful she's been to some of the contestants. I could never watch a whole season of her though! I know you'll be happy to have your landscaping done. We are quite a ways from that stage of the game here, but we are making progress : )
ReplyDeleteI guess that I'll be breaking the news to my inlaws over dinner... they love The Voice, but have had nothing to say about her other than her outfits are crazy and they don't like that wreaking ball promo they were playing. If they only knew how bad of an influence she is. Hopefully she'll be bringing her musical ability and that's all :-/

With the new home you get to start from scratch and that's exciting! I know that I could have applied myself more in H.S. I like and agree with your answer for #6 on our generation. I didn't watch Idol because Nikki was on! I agree with you about Miley being a judge but I felt her ideas were good ones for the contestants. I will probably join you in not watching. I know that the judges hurt Idol in the long run. The Voice is a good show and I like the judges so far.
ReplyDeleteI never thought about the hose, but your right...actually I can't remember the last time I wore hose. I also would not want to watch Miley Cyrus in anything, very bad role model for our young people.
