Lea's Favorites

This has become one of my most favorite posts to compose.  I hear from many of you that some favorite of mine have now become a favorite of yours and that makes me happy.  I always like to have someone else's endorsement of a product or item before I try it myself. That doesn't always happen but it's sure nice when it does.   So, here's a few for today.

Foldable bed - This is a Milliard folding bed.  Our little 3 year old Grandaughter has been out of her baby bed for several months now and has continued to sleep in a Pac N Play here when necessary.  But, she's just not comfortable in that any longer and she stayed the night with us a couple of weeks ago and I wanted her to have a comfortable bed.  We have way plenty of beds here but they are all very high off the floor.  That means if she rolled off of them it could really hurt her aside of scareing her too death.  So, off to Amazon I went and I found this folding bed.  It is 75X31 and is made out of a memory foam type material that is 4-5" thick.  It is twin size and it worked like a charm for my little sweetheart but it would work well for anyone.

And, when it's not in use it can be nicely stored away in this bag.  It fit perfectly in the closet and I'm sure we'll be using it a lot in the coming years.  You can find the bed here for a little less than $75 and you can also read lots of other endorsements for it.

Potato Salad - I have not made potato salad since I came across this 2-3 years ago. It is from the Wal-Mart deli and is absolutely delicious.  I could not make it any better for sure!  I love potato salad made with the skin on the potatoes and it's a bit chunky, just as I like it.  I do not like mashed potato salad at all!  This 4 pound container is about $5.37 cents and has about 13-15 servings.  Not a bad deal at all and once opened it is good for a couple of weeks.  So, next time you are asked to take potato salad somewhere, go and get this, put it in a bowl, act like you labored for hours making it and no one will ever question you.  And, you can just say "thank you" when they tell you how good it is. ~smile~

Super sized garbage bags - Folks, if you do not have these in your possession, you need too!  Now, not as garage bags, although they are certainly good for that.  But, they are the all time best for storing and hauling.  They are a frosted clear bag and are 45-50 gallon size.  That is HUGE!  I found these years ago and I can't tell you how often I use them.  They are great to cover large items that might be in storage, they are great to put things in for storage and as I said, for taking things somewhere.  I use them often to take things to the thrift store.  The best part is the size and the fact that you can see what's inside them.  I've never seen them anywhere except Sam's and they come 220 to a box.  I generally share a box with the kids and a friend or two as that is a a whole lot of bags.  They make a much heavier kind that, to me, are just too bulky and cannot easily be tied at the top.  We also use them at Christmas during our gift exchange.  They will hold and hold and it keeps us from having 15 bags of wrapping paper and used boxes.

Tater - it is with a very sad heart that I share this........If you have been reading my blog for a long time then you have met Tater.  He is a Golden Doodle that belonged to my brother and his wife.  Tater was just the BEST, no two ways about it.  He had no idea he was a dog.  I am not even a dog person and when I first met Tater almost 12 years ago he stole my heart and I've loved him ever since.  Well, the past year was tough on him and he battled several health issues and in recent days his condition worsened to the point of no return.  Tater walked over the rainbow bridge this past Tuesday.  He leaves behind a boatload of precious memories. I know life is going to be so different for my sister in law.  He was her constant companion and my heart has been so heavy for her.  Yes, Tater was my all time favorite dog, hands done!

HAVE  AN  AWESOME  WEEKEND!!!

  9. HI Lea, I too am so sorry to hear about Tater, but it sounds like your sil gave him a wonderful life. He's was a beauty and I'm sure so smart and easy going. Loved your reviews. It's cold and windy here today, so I'm staying in mostly. Feel like I'm fighting a cold; sure hope not. Have a wonderful weekend.

  10. We just used one of those foldable memory foam beds this week for one of my granddaughters. She is older so we put it on top of a twin size blow up mattress. It was the most comfortable bed in the house. lol. We had three granddaughters staying here for two weeks so needed the extra bed. They took turns sleeping on it and loved it.

I have never tried that potato salad as I usually HATE commercial potato salads. I will give this a try because I trust you- lol

Hope you have a good night- xo Diana

  11. I will be researching the folding bed! LOVE that idea to have little overnight guests. I use an air mattress so they can sleep in our room but the folding bed seems simpler:) Those bags look amazing! I am in the declutter mood and will take a look at those. I use clear tubs but they can get expensive! So sorry about the family Pup:( My Daughter's family lost their dog BB several years ago and it was very painful. Prayers for the family! Have a blessed Sunday dear Lea and thanks for sharing your faves with us!

  12. Great products. I could have used the bed a few years ago after our grandson outgrew his crib turned toddler bed. We pushed the beg against the wall and pillows on the floor. Ugh.......I've never tried the potato salad but sure sounds relish. So sorry about the beautiful pet, been there done that. It sure breaks your heart. He was beautiful! Hope you have a wonderful week.........

  13. Those furry family members can dig down into heart. We lost our dog several years ago but she was the best :). I have no interest in ever doing the "puppy" stage now that we have kids so we enjoy the sweet memories of life with a dog. I have tried to get that potato salad at our Walmart but its often sold out, it must be a favorite to many :)!
