Well, here we go, Miss Scarlett and I are getting to link up with the Traveling Tote gals for the first time ever. This is where we tell of our adventures with our totes. We sure do hope you will enjoy!
When Miss Scarlett isn't being used, she perches here on the bed in one of our guest bedrooms. Then when I walk by I can look at her and make sure she is happy. Truth be known, she's probably been pretty bored since her arrival as there hasn't been a lot of comings and goings. But, that is about to change this month. She's going to get out a whole lot more.
Miss Scarlett's first official outing was to a Super Bowl gathering.
She carried a load of empty containers for me. I made a huge pot of gumbo for the gathering and I took these empty containers to put the left over gumbo in. I thought those in attendance could carry some home with them. Well, it was a good idea, but there was none left over. Guess I can assume it was a HIT! So, Miss Scarlett got to carry the containers back home with us.
Miss Scarlett did get to meet a few of my running buddies and of course, it was "love at first sight" on both accounts. ~chuckle~ Miss Scarlett and I enjoyed the food and fellowship but the football game, well, we really could have cared less.
These Traveling Tote gals are so thoughtful and Miss Scarlett and I got four of the sweetest Valentine's from them.
Our next adventure was a day trip to Shreveport (about 100 miles from here) with a friend of mine. It was going to be a fun day of shopping and while the above picture looks as though it was a decent day. That was not the case.
It was 100% of rain predicted but we just knew that wouldn't happen. Well, it did and it was what my Grandmother use to call, "a frog choker" kind of rain. No joke, there were times we could barely see our hand in front of our face, so we cut our fun trip short and headed on back home after a couple of stops and a bite of lunch. Miss Scarlett carried my water, my umbrella, and a snack and I did my best to keep her dry. It was definitely an outing either of us will soon forget.
As I said in the beginning, there were no real exciting adventures this posting but Miss Scarlett and I will have a whole lot of excitement in the coming 2-3 months, so stay tuned.

Hi Lea! Welcome to our group of toters! Miss Scarlett looks like she has claimed that guest room for herself and I must say I don't blame her! I don't think I have ever tried a real gumbo but I would like to do so. Yours must have been delicious to disappear so completely. I have also never heard of a "frog choker" rain but the term does immediately give me a very clear picture of the intensity! I can see I will be enjoying your posts so much! Happy Traveling to you and Miss Scarlett! Linda
ReplyDelete"Frog choker"! Ha! Good luck on your future travels!
ReplyDeleteWelcome - I love that Ms Scarlett has her own bed!! lol....As the weather improves, our travels will get more exciting! Looking forward to following along with yours!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that your shopping trip was cut short due to the heavy rain, but you can always plan another trip this spring with your friend! A frog choker doesn't sound fun.....I don't think the Countess de Monet would like that at all!
ReplyDeleteWell, I shouldn't let Miss Courtney see how Miss Scarlett has her own room, that just wouldn't do. So happy to have you both join up. Sorry your shopping trip was cut short, not the kind of weather I want to be out in either. Sounds like your gumbo was a huge hit and a great way to use your tote. Welcome!
ReplyDeleteLea- I love your home, your MC Tote of course, and everything you had on in your photos.
ReplyDeleteI need more tunic sweaters like that!
And I love the term frog choker!
Have a good week!

You should do a gumbo tutorial:)
Well, Lea, welcome to the Traveling Tote Tribe! It looks to me as though Miss Scarlett is quite comfortable with you, whether in repose in the guest room, or out and about in a frog choker (lol). And certainly always in style. I'm looking forward to getting acquainted as the travels unfold....
ReplyDeleteLove the frog choker rain reference! Shopping in the rain is no fun at all! Yes, the totes are so perfect for toting any and everything... I don't know what I did before I got Miss Coquille! So glad you liked your Valentine, Lea, you will find our fellow tote gals to be incredibly thoughtful...

ReplyDeleteLea, welcome to the group. Miss Scarlett looks right at home in her own guest room. Cute ter, frog choker rain, new to me. You looks so cute and tiny. Looking forward to seeing more photos of you and Miss Scarlett.
ReplyDeleteLea, so fun to have you part of the group! I have never heard of a "frog choker" rain pour before! That is just too cute. Miss Scarlett weathered the storm, so that was great! It is amazing what can fit in these totes! I just love mine and am glad hubby supports the photo taking - haha!
ReplyDeleteLea.. I'm still chuckling about the "Frog choker." I won't have to wait long because we are due for a Nor'easter tonight. What a great post. You rock Miss Scarlett with your cute outfits! Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness what a precious tote and fun memories!!! I'm a bag girl and, oh, the stories some of my bags could tell! ;)

ReplyDeleteHi Lea! Welcome to our group of toters! Please don't tell Miss Aurora that Miss Scarlett had her own bed! We finally had some real gumbo in New Orleans, and I enjoyed it. "Frog choker" rain cracked me up! I hate when the worms are all over the driveway when it rains. Happy Traveling to you and Miss Scarlett!
