Spring and Other Things

Yes siree, tomorrow is the first official day of spring and I could not be more excited!  We have had little glimpses of spring the past couple of weeks.  It's my favorite time of year with fall running a close second.

I was browsing through the Plow and Hearth catalog a couple of weeks ago and saw this indoor/outdoor pillow and immediately ordered two of them for the benches on our front porch.  Of course, I love that they are birds and the bright colors are so spring looking.  They look so welcoming to me.

We purchased the ferns for the back porch a couple of weeks ago and because of the windows that look out to the porch, we enjoy them both from the inside and the outside.

And, on another note....Last Thursday morning I went to turn on my desktop computer and it decided it did not want to turn on. I mean, really!!!  It wouldn't be near as big of a deal except that I take care of all my husband's insurance business bill paying and such via Quickbooks.  And, just like that I'm unable to access it.  I called my trusty computer guy and in a matter of minutes he found the problem.  The power source was gone.  I'm not even sure what that means but I do know that it means it will not work.  But, he said it is a fairly easy fix and not too expensive so I'll be back up and running by the time we return from our trip.  Thankfully it didn't happen until after I had paid the middle of the month bills.  And, truth be told, if push comes to shove, I can always hand write checks and mail them in.  I've almost forgotten how to hand write a check.  ~shame on me~

We'll be heading out early Wednesday morning  towards Oklahoma to see these two monkeys. I can't believe we haven't seen them since Christmas.  It is always a special and fun time when we are with them.  Sure do wish they weren't 8 hours away, but I have to remember, they could be further than that.
While I'm away making memories with our Oklahoma family you folks hold the fort down while I'm out of blog land this week.
See ya next week!

  4. I just recently bought two outdoor pillows with colorful birds for our front porch bench too. Birds of a feather, . Enjoy your trip to see those two cuties. 8 hours seems “close” to me. Lol. Ours are 17! But distance is distance and I feel your pain. Enjoy your time!

  9. Lea I know that you will enjoy every minute with those cuties! I pray for you all a safe and fun trip. Make lots of memories dear Lea because one day they will keep us company. A dear older friend told me that once and I have never forgotten it. I am waiting to make sure the frost is over and then ferns will be on my front porch. I could not believe it but the last time I bought ferns I bought from Home Depot. Those things lasted us 18 months. So full, lush and pretty. Of course than man of mine always took care of them so that might be why they lasted so long! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
