What's Up Wednesday..........

Linking up with the What's Up Wednesday gals today.............

What we're eating this week - I grilled burgers on Monday for dinner, we ate out yesterday for Hubby's birthday and we'll have our family Easter celebration Friday afternoon and I'll be grilling pork tenders, with a potato casserole, green bean dish and rolls and lemon pound cake for dessert.  I have no idea what the rest of the week might hold, grilled sandwiches?

What I'm reminiscing about - I pretty much reminisce about various things everyday. Some days it's about our early years of marriage, my days of young motherhood, some days it's about my sweet Momma and on and on.

What I'm loving - Spring is bursting out all over here and I do LOVE it!  It makes me so happy!

What we've been up to -
This was us yesterday at the signing of the sale of our old house. It has been for sale for quite a long time so it was a great feeling to know that it is now the responsibility of someone else.

This was our home for 35 years and I can't begin to tell you the memories that we will always hold dear to our hearts of our years in this house.  But, we were so glad to lay aside the 2 1/2 acre yard and the two story house.  The couple that bought it is so excited and absolutely loves the house and that makes us very happy.

What I'm dreading - I can't really think of anything at the moment. ~that's a good thing~

What I'm working on - I'm in a slow process, and have been for some time, of getting my closet exactly like I want it.  It's been a work in progress ever since we moved in over 2 years ago.  To look at it, one would think it is organized, just not in the way I ultimately want it.  But, it's getting there!

What I'm excited about -
I will be going to Iowa towards the end of April to see this guy in his final college play.  This guy is my nephew who is a senior at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa.  He has been in every play that has been produced during his 4 years there and has had the leading role in many.  He is a "born actor" for sure and I have gone for the last 3 years to see their spring production and have enjoyed them all to the hilt!  It is going to be so interesting to see what doors open following his graduation in May. BTW, I will be enjoying a visit with younger brother and his wife while I am there too.  I'm really looking forward to it.

What I'm watching/reading -
I'm back with The Voice and American Idol and of course, Shark Tank!  As to reading, nothing big at the time, that is outside of blogs. ~smile~

What I'm listening to - since Christmas I have been listening to Escape, #69 on Sirus, an easy listening station that I love.  And, in the house, I listen to one of our digital easy listening stations on  our TV.  It's not full of noise like so much music and is so calming and peaceful.  It sure beats talk radio or the news, at least, for me it does.

What I'm wearing - Oh, I've pulled out some transition pieces and sandals.  Yes, I am wearing sandals and loving it.  I definitely still need sleeves and at least an ankle length pant, and, truth be known, I pretty much wear at least a 3/4 length sleeve year around.  Two reasons, I'm very cold natured and  the more of my arms that are covered the better they look. ~chuckle~

What I'm doing this weekend - As I mentioned above, we will celebrate our family Easter on Friday and, on Saturday we'll probably stay busy right here at the house and have been busy "springing" things up outside and on Sunday, we will celebrate our risen Savior and be sooooo very thankful that HE arose!

What are you looking forward to next month - see what I am excited about above

What's your favorite Easter tradition - just being with family and the excitement of our Gran girls as they hunt a few eggs and open their Easter "happies."  In recent years our family Easter celebration includes  our son and his family and my Dad.

  3. Such great news on selling the house! It is lovely and I am sure the new owners will build many memories. We are on spring break here for the rest of the week, but it is suppose to rain most of the time. I will still enjoy some much needed rest and a couple days out of town too!! Happy Easter!

  4. Awe, I am sure it may be bittersweet for you to sale as well. So glad you have a happy buyer.
What we're eating this week - So far we have had chili, cornbread and salad. Last night we had a baked chicken thigh meal I made with rice, carrots and potatoes, leftover corn bread and salad. Leftovers tonight. Have no clue about rest of week either. Sunday of course will be our traditional, Baked Ham, Potato salad, mac and cheese, and biscuits.

What I'm reminiscing about - Well yesterday I kept the youngest grand girl and as I was braiding her hair it brought back tons of memories of when my three girls were all small and I would fix their hair.

What I'm loving - Right now it's the mornings being nice and cool and then warming up during the day with a breath of Spring.

What we've been up to -
    Kitchen makeover

What I'm dreading -I have thought ahead to the summer and the thing I don't like is the horrible heat because with that comes mosquitoes for us. I live in the country and it's evident those pesky spans from Satan will be there! I dread it!

What I'm working on - purchasing a few things for my kitchen to go on top of my cabinets.

What I'm excited about -The arrival of our newest granddaughter which is due end of May.

    What I'm watching/reading -
Every week I work on/read Bible Studies. I am on my 2nd time of reading One Church, Four generations. I have started watching "Call of the Heart" I think it's called, on Sunday nights and have been enjoying that very much.

What I'm listening to - Silence! LOL! I like it when things are quiet.

What I'm wearing - Dress pants with quarter length sleeve dress top. Heels and of course my jewelry and lipstick. LOL! I too weat quarter length tops a lot. I am working today. Yesterday, a good old pair of jeans with pullover tee and it worked for me.

What I'm doing this weekend - Hope installing new kitchen and dining lights. Baking birthday cake for the oldest grandgirl. Birthday party and then Easter.

What are you looking forward to next month - April for me will bring a time to plant a few veggies and hopefully get a little garden going.

What's your favorite Easter tradition - After church we have dinner at my house with all the kids and grands. Well, we do that every Sunday. LOL! But we have a family wide and I say wide, because there's lots of us, Easter egg hunt at my FIL home. Kiddo's hunt eggs. We have desserts and lemonade and a good old boiled egg if anyone wants one.

Dear Leah, I hope that you and your family enjoy your Easter. I praise the Lord for Good Friday....to know that Jesus willingly laid down His precious life for me is almost more than I can fathom. But oh then comes Sunday. He's alive, He's alive, He's alive. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  7. Congratulations on the sale of your house. I'm sure the new owners will make as many wonderful memories as you did there. If there was one thing we could change about our Garden Home, it would be a larger, more well planned master closet. Alas, that won't happen, so its a constant challenge to keep it as orderly as possible. That doesn't work very well either. Happy Easter to you and the family. He is Risen!

  8. Congrats on selling your home! I totally understand the closet...mine just still isn't the way I want it after 14 years! I've tried alot of different things but I really think I need to remove everything so I can really evaluate.

  12. Congratulations on selling your old house! That is such a relief! Haha - I have been wearing sandals already too, although it is still cold here, but I just can't help it! I love all of these categories. It makes you think.
We are lucky to be able to have Easter dinner this year on Sunday! We change according to the kids' schedules, but we have a fun Easter Egg hunt which draws them in. What a wonderful time of year, and celebrating Easter and its true meaning is always so special. Have a wonderful weekend.
