Random Dozen Wednesday

 1. From "Men Are Dumb ....": If you had a theme song that played whenever you walked into a room full of people, what would it be?Oh, my, this will probably sound really crazy, but it would be the theme from "Chariots of Fire."   (I bet a lot of the young bloggers have not even heard of it) ~sigh~  I love, love that song and it energizes me to the fullest!
 2. From Pam of "Alert And Oriented x 4": Which of your shoes are your absolute favorite, and which are of the object of your most painful shoe-buyer's remorse? I love my Vaneli boot shoes/mules.
I have been wearing them for several years (not the same pair :o) and even though they  may appear uncomfortable, they are not and they are just so "  daggum"   cute!
I don't exactly have buyer's remorse with these, but they are very painful to wear for very long.  But, sometimes we just have to "  bow up"   and endure the pain if the occasion calls for it. ~smile~

3. From Susanne of "Living to Tell the Story": Tell about your favorite birthday celebration that you've personally experienced.
I love every birthday because it means I'm still "  vertical"  but I think that my 16th birthday would be one of my most favorite memories. My parents invited a few of my friends over to our house and I just remember thinking I must be really special for them to do this for me.  And, I had a boyfriend at the time and he gave me a bottle of Shalimar perfume. That was indeed the "  icing on the cake."   How funny!

4. From Lori of "Just me and My Life": If you were a flavor of ice cream, which would you be? Vanilla, for sure because you can just add all kinds of "  embellishments"  (flavored syrups, nuts, etc) or you can just keep it "  plain and simple"

5. Cindy Swanson of "Notes in the Key of Life" asks: Have you ever had a crush on a movie star? Who was it, and are you still crushing?
Well, I must confess.........I think Richard Gere is just about the "  be all, do all "   of the male species.  How silly of me,but I can't help it. ~giggle~

6. Jill from "Jill Boyd's Place" inquires: Glasses or braces--if you had to wear one, which would it be?
Definitely, glasses. Glasses can make a "  fashion statement"   but I don't think I've ever heard of braces being fashionable.  They certainly may end up giving you a
"  fashionable smile"   in the end and that's worth a lot.

 7. Nel from "Fasteneau Facts" asks: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? Probably the Blueridge Mountains of Virginia, where I lived when Hubby and I married. Just a beautiful part of the country that I am already very familiar with.

8. Thena from "Patiently Waiting" wants to know: If money were no obstacle, what would be the perfect birthday gift to receive? Flying lessons and a small airplane.  I love to travel but I do not enjoy riding in a car and I do not enjoy fighting all the details of flying commercially.

9. From "Life Through Bifocals," LynnMarie asks: What is your favorite birthday meal? Oh, I do enjoy food but I do not live to eat so this is a hard question for me.  But, I do like grilled pork tenders with potato casserole and some kind of cream pie for dessert.

10. Debby at "Just Breathe" checks in with: Do you still send hand-written thank you notes? I guess I will always think that there is just nothing like a hand written thank you note, just knowing someone took the time adds to the meaning of the note. Yes, I definitely do!

11. Linda from "Mocha with Linda" poses this question: What is something you've done that you never thought you'd do?  Well, I've done lots of things that I never thought I'd do, but I don't know that any of them have been all that spectacular to anyone else.

12. Jewel, my homegirl from Indiana who writes at "Musings from the World of Jewel," is very insistent that we answer this: Mount Rushmore honors four US Presidents: Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Roosevelt. If you could add any person to Mount Rushmore, who would you add and why?
It would be Billy Graham because he has impacted so, so many people's with the message of Jesus Christ, led thousands to His (Jesus Christ) saving grace and all the while staying untarnished by the world and it's evils.

What a fun Random Dozen! I bet Linda will prompt us to help her out again, we did so good this time. ~smile~ For more fun click over to Linda's 2nd Cup of Coffee  and read more answers.

  1. I always write thank yous and even write little notes here and there to friends. I am doing the snail mail swap again soon - I think letter writing is something not many people do and I love to get out the stationery and its so nice to get a letter in the mail.

  2. YAY! Glad you participated this week, Lea!

I also loved Chariots of Fire, and hearing that theme song is motivating, like hearing the Rocky theme song is always associated with getting in shape! Great movie.

Love, LOVE those black pumps! I bet you rock 'em, southern-belle style!
And Richard Gere--yes. I think I liked him best in "Runaway Bride."

  3. Lea, I loved getting to know you better through your answers to the questions. Chariots of Fire is my all time favorite movie. Once when I wrote about it on Heart Choices, several of the younger bloggers commented that they weren't even born when it came out. LOL.

I love vanilla ice cream too and yes you can dress it up with good stuff. Love hand written thank you notes. An email and phone call may be nice but there's something very personal about a hand written note.

I liked Richard Gere in "An Officer and a Gentleman".

    Great shoes!

    Hugs,
    Debbie

  4. I wore Shalimar for years and years. Actually I was just given a nice little bottle of it from Sephora so I am enjoying it again.
I normally wear Tova now. Richard Gere is a good answer, he is hot!
No plane for me, no way but I admire you for that. So happy to hear that you do thank you notes.

  8. I love Chariots of Fire--and I agree, Billy Graham would be a good face to add to Mt. Rushmore, even though I didn't think of him.

  9. A bottle of Shalimar at 16 would have been very special for sure.

Those black pumps are so nice how dare they hurt your feet?
