Spring Has Almost Sprung!

Good Morning Girls! Looks like it may well be a "wet day" here and well, I really wish that the Lord had decided to allow it to rain only at night and for the sun to shine in the daytime.  He knew best but I'm just not a "wet weather" fan and don't like to get out in it unless I have too.  I'm afraid I'll melt. ~grin!

I've just been about to "bust my britches" to decorate for Easter , but since it is still 7 weeks away, I'm trying to hold off for another week or so.  But, it is so hard.  We've had some beautiful spring days and it has given me the itch to get out those bunnies and spring items.  I did get a new spring  arrangement for the kitchen table and I am more than a little proud of it.
I saw a similar type arrangement in a magazine and took it to one of our local floral designers (for the local folks, Andrea at The Flower Tree) and she created this.  I wanted something "happy" and I do believe this spells HAPPY with a capitol H.

On Tuesday of this week I kept Clancy.  He was getting over some kind of virus and the Mommies didn't want the babies together just yet.  Anyway, as I've stated recently, he is in the midst of potty training.  I had left him watching Backyardigans and I came into my office to do something.  In a few minutes he runs in here to me and says, "I pee peed CiCi."  He didn't have a stitch on except a shirt.  I praised him for going by himself, as he has never done this, and then I went in the bathroom to fetch his undies and pants to put them back on him.  The undies are no where to be found.  After I had looked and looked I thought, "did he flush them down the commode."  So, I asked him and sure enough he said, "yes, I flush them."  Merciful heavens! we're on a septic tank and that is grounds for serious trouble.  So, I immediately called Hubby.  He came home and went outside to check the trap and had me do all kind of things to try and help him locate the undies as they came through the septic tank trap.  No luck!  So, we are hopeful that they slide right on through and won't come back to haunt us in a few days.  I did explain to Clancy that we do not flush our undies down the commode and as any 29 month old, he just looked at me as though he had full understanding of what I had just told him.  Oh, me!

Did you notice that I now have a navigation bar on my blog? I don't have it fully up and running just yet, but at least it is there and ready for me to put to use.  Karen Valentine with Valentine Designs did this for me.  If you are looking for someone to do your blog design, I whole heartily recommend Karen.  She is so talented and creative and is a pleasure to work with.  I think my blog is so "me" and I couldn't be happier with it.

And, let me give you Company Gals a "heads up."  Beginning on Monday I will be doing my very first ever giveaway. Check back on Monday for all the details.  You will not want to miss it, I promise!

Thanks to Rachel for hosting us each Friday.  It has been such a pleasure to make such good Company Girl friends.  They are the BEST!  Blessings to all for a wonderful week-end!

  1. We had a couple of springy days here and they were DIVINE...now we are in for a weekend of rainy weather and flash floods, yuck!

I LOVE your spring arrangement, so pretty! It brings a little spring into your house even if it is raining outside!

I must say, that even with four children, I have yet to have one to flush his undies down the toilet...oh me! I hope you are right and they slide down without incident...septic troubles are no fun!

Hope you have an amazing weekend! Blessings!

  2. That Spring arrangement is beautiful! It really does say Happy!I am so hoping we get better weather soon!
I laughed at the undies incident. Our daughter once put a whole pile of clothes in the bowl so she could "wash them" thankfully she didn't flush, or we would have been in big trouble!
    Blessings on your Day!

  3. Oh my, he flushed the undies down the toilet? :-o I have to admit that as I was reading, I thought he pee peed on the floor somewhere (my youngest grandson was notorious for taking off his pants and underwear and then peeing on the floor instead of the potty). As bad as it would have been had Clancy peed on the floor, it would have certainly would have been preferable to flushing the undies ... on a septic system! Praying that they'll just slide all the way down without trouble!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  4. Um, at least you have to give Clancy credit for knowing he needed to flush! Praying the undies don't cause serious (and expensive) issues.

Jealous of your spring weather. We go from mid-forties to a high of twenty, and the flowers know better than to start poking their heads up just yet. Easter is late enough this year that the tulips and other early spring flowers may just be in bloom for us.

  9. I LOVE the arrangement and just might try to re-create it on my own. I absolutely adore working w/ flowers.

Your grandson's undies story cracks me up. Oh, dear, and I thought having a dog take things out of the trash instead of put them in was a big hairy deal!

  10. I know people who would love to just go out in the rain and splash and get wet. Nope, not me either. I am the same way. Time for some hot chocolate and snuggle up for a movie or a good book. I just can't get out there. Luckily we have sunshine today. Not sure we can make it out though since both girls are not well and we have a busy busy Saturday.

    Love the flowers!!

Here's hoping the undies won't come back. Yikes!

    Have a wonderful weekend.

  11. Your spring flowers certainly are HAPPY! I am starting to feel the Spring itch also!
I have an almost 24 month old who loves to flush things (check out my link up!)I know that "not sure it was flushed but it's possible" feeling and the anticipation every time you flush that something awful is about to erupt. I hope everything turns out fine!
Have a lovely springy weekend - and get out that Easter stuff! Mardi Gras is Tuesday so we should be ready and anticipating the Easter Season on Wednesday is my thinking!

  13. I love your "new" blog and your flower arrangement. I have started to buy carnations a couple of times a month as they lasts forever. So happy with the spring comming.
I don't mind it being cold and will even ride my bike while it snows. But lately my arthrithes in my neck has been acting up and I miss the sun heating my neck up instead of my heating pad. Soon, very soon though.

  17. First of all, thank you so much for posting a picture of your beautiful flower arrangement! It made my day. This morning I woke up to snow again. :(

Sorry to hear about the undies incident, but I have to admit, I did laugh. It really makes me wonder what was going through his little brain at the time!

Well, I'm off to have coffee with a few others before my husband wakes. Have a great day!

    I love your flower arrangement.
I am all ready for Spring to come.
We had quite a few days with windows open and heater off.
Then the rain came and brought cold weather.
Needless to say, our heater is back on.

    Looking forward to your giveaway!

  20. Hey! I know just how you feel; I have also been getting spring fever. I just want to buy spring/summer clothes for my kids, as well as replace my old fall table centerpiece with some pretty flowers. I am ready to do some easter shopping as well.
