Miscellany Monday

It is just 10 days until Thanksgiving.  Oh, my, how did that happen! I'm not sure if it's an "age thing" or if time is really going by that quickly.  Let me hurry and get my miscellaneous thoughts down before it's Tuesday.............

A first.........

Our birthday group went to a cute little restaurant for lunch last week on our outing.  Of course, we all had to go to the bathroom.  This is what was on the doors of the women's and men's bathrooms there.  We had never seen such but all thought it stated it pretty plain.  How funny!

Really????????
This apron was displayed in a shop I went in last week.  It stopped me right in my tracks and I had to stand right there and laugh out loud.  I mean, what a great gag gift for some gal.  Surely that would be the only reason this would be given.  Right? Where do people come up with these ideas?  And, might I add, it was NOT cheap!

It's that time..........

I would bet that many of you have or are getting ready to pick out your Christmas card.  And, if you do like I do and use photos on your card, then it can be quite the challenge.  In browsing through ideas, I came across the one above.  How cute is that?  Hubby and I had our pics taken yesterday afternoon for our card and I can assure you that I am not sitting on his shoulders. ~laugh~  My daughter and DIL are always on top of getting some cute photos of the Grans, so I think mine is close to being designed.  I am one of those that gets a lot of enjoyment out of creating our Christmas card and mailing it.  And, I enjoy receiving them as well.

Ah, pure goodness.......

My friends, you are looking at what has been one of the most important foods on our Thanksgiving menu for years and years. Here in the deep south there is nothing like Sweet Potato Casserole.  And, I might add, that the buttery, pecan and brown sugar topping makes you happy, happy, happy.  If you are looking for the BEST recipe, you can click here. One of the good things, besides the deliciousness ( I don't think that's a word, but I just made it one) is that it can be frozen ahead of time and the topping added just before baking.  I'm all into advance preparation.

And, remember to........

  4. You are always such an encouragement to me. I had to laugh at that acrobatic card. I'd never be able to pull that one off. And bathrooms like that make me laugh. I'm going to check out that recipe. It looks so good and I need to bring something to our Thanksgiving gathering.

    Blessings and love,
    Debbie

  5. I love that acrobatic card : ) We took a picture back in August since both girls were here at the same time. I'm happy with the way it turned out and already have them in my hands so am feeling really good about that!

Your sweet potato recipe looks very similar to mine...mine also has a layer of very thinly slice apples under the yummy topping. It only adds more good to the goodness!

  9. LOL...it's hard enough getting my family all together to take a picture, much less having us posed so strategically! :)

I just had some sweet potato casserole at an event yesterday, and yes, it was amazing.

    Loved your post!

  10. I think you ought to buy that apron and put it on next time youre expecting tom at the door. You might have quite a Friday Letter to write to the apron. Or to he FedEx man who was supposed to be Tom at the door!

    Hose bathroom signs re hilarious.

  11. Those doors are a new one on me! How funny, and the apron? I think people must just sit in a room somewhere and try to think of the most outrageous ideas, and then... make them. :)

The sweet potato casserole has me hungry, there's nothing like the side dishes to the turkey, is there?
