Yipee! It's Friday and I get to write some letters. Thanks Ashley for being our lovely host for Friday letter writing.
Dear Family.......I am looking forward to our time together this coming week as we celebrate Thanksgiving. Bridget, I am so sorry that you cannot be here with us, but we look forward to seeing you and your guys 4 weeks from today. Living 13 hours away does present challenges. ~boo~
Dear Mrs. Petraeus..... I am so sorry for all the public humiliation that you have had to endure in recent days. While your husband really messed up, I don't think it is necessary for the media to fill us in on the details of his misbehavior. I truly hope that the two of you can survive this and healing can occur and the media will leave you alone.
Dear Subway.......I love your flat bread sandwiches, in fact, I love just about all of your sandwiches. And, I love that I get to watch you make them. I have a feeling if I were to watch how food is prepared at some of the other places I frequent, I likely would not eat it. Ugh! not a pleasant thought.
Dear Retailers.......Do you really have to begin your Black Friday sales on Thanksgiving evening? I think it is terrible that your employees cannot have off all day on Thanksgiving. I know that the almighty $$$ rules your decisions but I think starting your sales at midnight was soon enough and even that is unnecessary to me. Oh, well, what do I know?
Dear Pumpkin Bread..........I love the aroma that you left in the house after I baked you yesterday afternoon. I'm sure hoping that you taste as good as you smell. ~yummy~
Dear Madonna......really.......you took your pants off at your benefit concert for the Sandy victims. I truly thought I was hearing incorrectly but no, you really did. Do you have any shame???? I think not!
Dear Weather.....you have been absolutely gorgeous this past week and I'm ordering more of the same for the coming week. Ya hear? Thanksgiving will be all the better with gorgeous weather.
Dear Readers..........think on this
Oh I always enjoy your letters! This is my first to hear of the Madonna thing, as I truly avoid listening to the media all that I can. I have absolutely no respect for them, and they rarely ever "report" anything good. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteGood morning! Boy do I agree with you on the black Friday thing....it's all soo ridiculous. If the sales and savings are there, I have never understood why the stores can't open at 6 am and go till midnight ON Friday. Started earlier and earlier until now it all STARTS on Thanksgiving, and of course people flock in. I know some who plan NOTHING at all for
ReplyDeleteThanksgiving in order to do the sales....sad!
Enjoy your week-end!
I couldn't agree more with you on Black Friday. I shopped on the Friday after Thanksgiving - almost 40 years ago, before it was the competitive sport that it is nowadays ... I swore then that I'd NEVER do it again!!!
ReplyDeleteWe're going to have nice weather for the next week, with Thanksgiving being the pick day of the week - a high of 61!
I love pumpkin bread! I don't think I could smell it baking and not have a piece right away. ;-)
Pumpkin bread smell is so yummy. I'm sure it will taste like it smells.
ReplyDeleteSo enjoyed your letters today Lea. Yours is usually my first blog to read on update days. We are going to Texas for Thanksgiving week to visit friends and end up at Christy's for the big day. Trust your day with family will be a great one. Love ya.
ReplyDeleteHi Lea, these letters are so adorable, I truly enjoyed them, thank you for allowing me a peak.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend,
Blessings,
Sue
Love your letters. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Didn't hear that about Madonna, makes me sad. Haven't had a Subway in a long time since I'm doing low carb but I agree they are awesome! No employee should have to work on Thanksgiving other than those that are extremely necessary like police and hospitals.
ReplyDeleteseriously, i have prayed for that woman. i can't imagine how it must feel to be in the spotlight for this. phew.
ReplyDeletehave a beautiful thanksgiving. i wish you could all be in one place! thank goodness your tech savvy and facetime will happen - i trust! : )
love you, my 2nd mama!
I too have prayed for Mrs. Petraeus...such humiliation. Too bad we don't get the level of detail on Benghazi we are getting on his antics.
ReplyDeleteMy niece works for Kohls and their sales begin at midnight. It stinks!
It is always a pleasure to read your letters. I too love anything pumpkin. I love the smell and the taste. Shame on Madonna! And yes, I don't want all the sordid details either.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and love,
Debbie
