Linking up with Ashley for some letter writing today......
Dear Thanksgiving........I am so sorry that you are somehow squashed between Halloween and Christmas and are often almost completely ignored. What a shame! There may be a whole lot of tough stuff in everyone's lives, but there's still so, so much to be thankful for and you deserve to be celebrated to the fullest extent.
Dear Clancy and Hanna Beth........you are growing up so fast and while I loved rocking you when you were babies, you are so, so much fun right now. Your learning like wildfire and I enjoy our conversations and the cutest things come out of your mouth! You may likely never fully know just how much your CiCi loves you. I pray that you when you are grown you will have the fondest memories of me. ~smile~
Dear Thanksgiving Meal.........I will be cooking for 11 members of our family here at our home. I want you to turn out really well for me and be absolutely delicious. I'm going to start my preparations this weekend so that I will be "one step ahead" of the game. Thanks in advance for cooperating with me.
Dear President Obama.......I am not happy about the fact that you were elected to serve another 4 years. But, let me assure you that I am praying for you and that you will do your best to turn our country around economically and morally and work to unify us. It is a sad state of affairs presently and you are the "man in charge." I am going to try hard to remain hopeful.
Dear Christmas List........I have made a huge dent in you and am about to get started with the wrapping and bagging. I know many folks enjoy the rush of holiday shopping but I enjoy the peace and tranquility of knowing it is done in advance. ~grin~
Dear Daddy......I cannot believe that you are alive to celebrate your 83rd birthday today. You are truly a living miracle and I pray you have a wonderful day and feel extra good. I love you and am thankful for God's provisions over you this past year and a half.

Your Dad has made such an amazing recovery. Happy Birthday to him.
ReplyDeleteI think your one of the sweetest, most positive and upbeat ladies that I know in blogland.
ReplyDeleteGood morning! I am so with on the thoughts about Thanksgiving. Wish it was somewhere besides right in front of Christmas. Giving thanks is too important to be rushed over. Happy birthday to your dad! How happy I am for you that he is doing so well! Enjoy your week-end...
ReplyDeleteGreat letters from beginning to end...and I love Thanksgiving, so I try hard to make an effort during this season...yes, serving that large of group here, but you are steps ahead of me
ReplyDeleteOh the conversations with your little grand children...and I too rejoice over your Dad's celebration of his birthday this year
Well said letters today :) I love Thanksgiving and the whole season. I will be doing most of the cooking this year and guess I should start making a plan ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame that Thanksgiving gets overlooked ... so many just think of it as a time to eat too much, watch some football and then go shopping. DD and I share the cooking ... we'll be cooking for at least 11 as well (maybe 2-3 more??). What are you getting a head start on? I wouldn't mind getting an early start, too.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your dad. I saw the photo on Facebook; so sweet. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I love to focus on thankfulness. It's a great time to get the family on the same page too.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and love,
Debbie
