Linking up with Lisa for Hello Monday..........
Hello Easter egg dying fun.......
I got so excited the other week when I found these plastic eggs that you can actually dye. They look exactly like real eggs, except you do not have to boil them nor do you have to worry about them breaking. And, they are only $1.97 a dozen! Sounds really good doesn't it?
Well, Friday night I got everything out so that the Princess could dye the eggs. I followed the instructions, got all the little egg cups fixed up with the coloring tabs, vinegar and water and we were all set. Well, guess what a hollow eggs does? It floats! It does not sink to the bottom of the little cup. Hummm.......so decided we were going to have to hold those blessed eggs "down under" until they reached the desired richness of color. Trouble is, they never reached a richness of color. They were just pale and pitiful looking. ~or so I thought~ So, I grabbed some food coloring out of the cabinet and began dropping that in the mixture and we finally got a little better results but still not what I was looking for. But, Hanna Beth had a great time and that was all that mattered! But, those eggs were just not all they were"cracked up" to be. ~smile~
Hello Texas..........
Hear ye! Hear ye! Our daughter and family will be relocating to the Mt. Pleasant, Texas area the first week of June. Yep! you read that right! The GPS says that it is exactly 3 1/2 hours from us. Right now they are in Dodge City, Kansas which is 13 1/2 hours from us. So, you know we are beside ourselves with excitement. Our SIL has been promoted with the USDA to this area. We have never known what it would be like to have them this close and it's so nice to know that if they need us or we need them, we can easily get to each other. And, there are so many neat towns and cities near Mt. Pleasant and Bridget and I look forward to checking them all out. We are so thankful that the Lord saw fit to bring this to pass.
Hello cross............
It's the week before Easter and hopefully our hearts and minds will be pondering all that Easter means to us as Christians and how differently our lives would be had it not been for the cross.

Yay! So glad that your Bridget and her family will be much, much closer! I'm just tickled pink for you both!
ReplyDeleteWhat a disappointment those eggs must have been ... but like you said, if Hanna Beth had a good time, then that's all that mattered! ;-)
The eggs were a pretty pastel but I am with you on wanting rich, bright colors. Oh well. Now ya know. So happy for your good news! And totally agree with your thoughts about the cross.
ReplyDeleteExciting your family is moving closer!! Have a great Easter!
ReplyDeleteOh Leah if anyone gets how wonderful this news is about your daughter it is me!!! How pleased and excited you must be! That distance is NOTHING. Now you can pop over for a week-end or a few days even just drive the drive by yourself and on and on. Soo happy for you. I'd be giddy if Melody was moving that close to me. And when I first started reading about those eggs I was all excited too wondering if I could find them here, but the story didn't end well now did it? lol oh well...Enjoy your day!!
ReplyDeleteBeyond thrilled that your daughter and her family are moving closer to you. I know how excited you must be. Yes...this is definitely a time to be very thankful for both the cross and the resurrection.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you Leah, I know you are excited that your daughter and family will be so close. That won't be a bad drive at all.

Making memories is what it's all about, CiCi, looks like you all did just that. Congratulations to your family on the promotion and the move! I guess I can say that there will be more wonderful memories being made! God is so good to us, His children.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding us of this special week.
Wishing you and your family a very happy and Blessed Easter.

ReplyDeleteOne of our daughters and family is visiting with us right now and it is wonderful. They will be leaving on Friday so I am enjoying every moment!

ReplyDeleteThat's so exciting that your daughter will live so much closer. You must be giddy with excitement! Have a blessed Easter!
ReplyDeleteI saw on FB the post you were tagged in announcing the move. So very happy for you! I know that distance can be managed, but it's not my favorite thing either : ) Enjoy having them close enough for a weekend visit!
ReplyDeleteI know you will understand that it is Wed. and I'm just getting to read your Mon. blog post. The egg story was so funny because I can just see you fretting about those less than perfect eggs while Hannah Beth was having a ball. The story "cracked me up" too.
ReplyDeleteYou finally got to share this wonderful news! God definitely has good things in store for all of you. And, I'm so glad I'm in the "between."
May you and Tommy have a blessed week as we all anticipate celebrating the life, death and resurrection of our Savior.
How exciting that your daughter will be closer. I miss my family as they live on the opposite coast. May you have a blessed Easter,
ReplyDeleteBlessings and love,
Debbie

So cool! I didn't remember dying eggs when I was a kid, although my mom says we did. My first experience that I remembered was with my niece and nephew and then with my stepdaughter. It was an eye-opening experience!
ReplyDeleteLast year I dyed eggs with my nephews using the shaving cream/food coloring method that was going around on Pinterest...disaster! I don't know what we did wrong, but most eggs turned out brownish! haha Congrats on your kids moving closer. I actually live about an hour and a half from Mt. Pleasant and my dad worked there for about 10 years to get his second retirement!
