Company Girls are the BEST!

Good Morning from what is suppose to be a sunny day. It's a tad too early to tell just yet.  But, I'm, relying on the forecast of a sunny day and they are saying we'll get a "glimpse" of Spring this coming week.  Does that make me happy, you bet it does!!!  This is what it looked like around here on Wednesday afternoon and yesterday morning.

A side view
And, I know, this is absolutely nothing compared to what some of you gals have experienced.  But, for us, this is soooooooo unusual.

It has been a fun week, in spite of the snow. ~smile~  Last Friday while my daughter and DIL were out of school they brought the babies over and we made Valentine cookies. And,  both babies sneaked in a bite of cookie dough and after they got a taste of that, that's pretty much all they wanted. And, can you blame them? ~smile~

Then last Sunday afternoon I was blessed with a visit from another Company Girl and her precious daughter who happened to be in town visiting friends and relatives.

Momma and daughter-----so, so sweet
Star married a guy from here that grew up in our church and they lived here for 4+ years before moving to TN.  While I knew her, I didn't know her that well until I began blogging.  A mutual friend of ours told me that Star was a blogger too and I immediately found her blog and connected with her.  At that time, a special friendship was born and she is responsible for me becoming a Company Girl.  The rest is history!  Star is the author of the blog, One More Equals Four where she shares about her awesome adventures as the Mom of four and her love of the Lord.  It was so special to spend one on one time with Star last Sunday afternoon. Love you Star!

It was 45 years ago this weekend that Hubby escorted me to our church Sweetheart Banquet.  I say escorted because it truly was just that.  We lived right beside the church and he came and walked me over to the church for the banquet and walked me back.  Oh, my goodness, who would have ever thought where that night would lead.  One just never knows! But, what a ride it has been!!

Again, a big thank you to Rachel for hosting us each Friday.  As the title of my post says, "Company Girls are the BEST!

May the SON shine brightly in your life regardless of the weather!

  1. That snow! It is making me cold. =p We have sun here still...who knows for how long. The grans are growing up! I keep picturing them as little babies like you said. =p That is a precious picture of you with them. What a neat story of you and Star. And a sweet story of you and your hubby. I am glad it worked out in the end. Norm and I are church sweethearts too. Haha

  2. Oh, I hope you get that spring weather. It is a whopping 4 degrees here this morning and I am FREEZING! We got about another 2 inches Wednesday so we have about 4 accumulated, it has been too cold to melt it so it is still all over the place...how I long to see grass again! :)

I had such an amazing visit with you! Lilly is begging to go back, and I think she will even tolerate letting the boys come this time as long as there are rides involved! you were an amazing hostess!

Such a sweet story about you and Hubby! Maybe my oldest will have a sweet story to tell someday about his "first love" and only love that he met at thirteen years old...one can hope!

Have a great, hopefully spring like, weekend!

  4. This is SO PRECIOUS! First off, cute little grandbabies! And I totally don't blame them with the cookie dough...I'm an adult, and I'm still that way :)

So glad you got to meet up with a fellow blogger. Hopefully one day soon we'll meet up and get to chat, too!

45 years...that makes my heart happy. Such a milestone! I hope and pray I find a sweet man like you found and that we make it 45 years. That's my hope and prayer today :) I know God has some big plans for me. Thanks for all of your encouragement!

  5. What a sweet first date story! From what you've said, that wasn't just a one-time exhibit of courtliness, but the basic character of your love.

Such cute pictures, of you and the grans, and of your guests. The sweetest thing about Company Girls? Even if we may not have a chance to meet on earth, there will be a very big Company Girls party in heaven!

  6. It is sunny here, but we still have plenty of snow ... and lots of ice. But Spring will be visiting us this coming week as well. As much as I love snow, I am not a fan of cold weather, so I'll be glad for some warm temperatures.

I, too, love the raw cookie dough ... and vowed as a child that when I became an adult, one of the first things I'd do is make some cookie dough and eat it ALL raw! Of course, I wasn't able to do that ... but I did try. ha! Glad you got some time with the grands ... fun times indeed!

And what a sweet story about being escorted to the Sweetheart Banquet. And the story continues to this day. ;-)

As always, I was blessed to visit your blog.

  17. Isn't it fun when Company Girls can connect in person? I met another CG here in Spokane when we were attending our other church. It's such a small world. :) Maybe some day we will have our own Company Girl Retreat!

    Blessings,
    Melissa
