Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. George Washington-Abraham Lincoln-Thomas Jefferson...who would you most like to meet and why?

I think it would be neat to meet George. I mean, he was the FIRST president and how cool is that.  He must have felt so honored  to be the leader of our country.  And, I can almost guarantee that he has rolled over in his grave many times over the current state of affairs in our great country.  We are in dire need of some George Washington's!

2. What's your favorite chain restaurant?

I'm a big fan of the Olive Garden, absolutely love their salad and their stuffed mushrooms.  That's pretty much my standard order when Hubby and I go.

3. I spied this question on the Bears at Home blog last week and she gave me permission to
steal
borrow it-

When you look back on your life, do you imagine you'll think about the goals you failed to meet with regret? Or will you look at what you accomplished and say: it was good?
It does no good to look back with regret but rather  look forward with anticipation at what lies ahead.  I definitely have regrets but I do not dwell on them and I can say what I would have done differently but that's all based on what I know now, not on what I knew then.  So..........I think I would say, it was good!

 4. Grapefruit-take 'em or leave 'em? Given the choice between an orange and a grapefruit which would you choose? Would you prefer it served as is or squeezed into juice?
Well, believe it or not, I am NOT a fruit lover at all.  I know, that is awful, but the texture of most fruit is a turn off to me.  But, think I'd probably choose a grapefruit with lots of sugar sprinkled on top served as is.
5. When was the last time you cleaned out a closet? Is there a closet in your home that currently needs cleaning? What are you waiting for?
Oh, I'm always cleaning out a closet of some kind.  I'm sure I have one that needs a bit of tidying, but I'm pretty fanatical about cleaning and organizing and once one shows signs of disarray then I'm getting it back in order.  I know, strange..............
6. You get to have lunch with three famous people...who would you like to see round your table?
Anne Graham Lotz, Celine Dion and Ree Drummond (Pioneer Woman). Anne could impart her Biblical knowledge to me, Celine could sing to me and Ree could cook for me.  I mean, could it be any better or any more fun.

7. On a scale of 1-10 how would you rate your ability to parallel park?
Oh, I think I could be the Queen of parallel parking.  It was basically the "way" to park when I started driving.  I learned to drive in the hills of Virginia and often had to parallel park on a hill while driving a standard shift car.  Now, girlies, that isn't a feat for a sissy! ~laugh~
8. Insert your own random thought here.

Yesterday, at our Garden Club meeting we had a floral designer as our guest speaker.  He was amazing!  He did the arrangement pictured above.  It is a two leveled arrangement done in three 4 inch square containers.  And, take a close look and you will see radishes, and that is leaves from beets you see in the forefront.  I would have never thought of using such but it was so pretty when he finished with the arrangement.  He did a couple of other arrangements and used rhubarb in them and that was so interesting.  Shoot, I'm thinking I might even try a stalk of celery in my next arrangement. ~chuckle~

  4. I love the rhubarb in the arangement-I'm going to try that. I've seen a lot of arrangements using lemons and limes which I also love.

    Pioneer Woman-love that!

  5. I like your line about not looking back ... reminds me of Scarlet's line in Gone with the Wind "Don't look back Ashley, don't look back. It'll drag at your heart until you can't do anything but look back."

Oh my, parallel parking on a hill with standard transmission. You ARE the Queen of Parallel Parking!!

That arrangement is gorgeous! I never would have thought of adding vegetables! How unique!

  6. I grew up in rural West Virginia and parllel parking was required before we could get our license. You know, I don't think they require this in Tennessee. Oh well, to do this today would take a little practice as I'm quite rusty.
