Wednesday Hodgepodge

I always look forward to Wednesdays and the questions that our hostess Joyce will come up with. Don't just stop here, click the button above and read more answers to these fun questions.

1. What is something you are loving right now?
My Dad in his woodworking shop in 2010
I am loving that my Daddy continues to improve and going home is even in the "discussion stage."  This is nothing short of a miracle and we are giving God all the glory and the prayers of the many hundreds that have been interceding on his behalf these past 8 months.  And, I feel that Dad's disciplined life of a healthy diet and exercise aided in the restoration of his body.  Daddy is 82 years old and it is most doubtful that he will make a full recovery but we will be happy with a functional recovery that would allow him to return home. Time will tell but we are certainly hopeful.  I would never have dreamed that he would live, much less make this much of a recovery but let me assure you, I am loving it!

2. Paris, Venice, New York, and Rome are considered four of the most romantic cities in the world. Which one would you most like to visit?

Well, I have been to New York twice and absolutely love it, but think it would be fun to go to Paris.  I don't imagine I ever will as Hubby and I are not fond of overseas travel.  So, maybe I'll just go back to NYC for another visit.

3. Are you a romantic?
It depends.........I can be very sentimental for sure!

4. What's your favorite love story made for the Big Screen?
The first movie to come to my mind was The Notebook. Oh, my,  what love and devotion these two had for each other.  And, might I add, Robert Garner was just the BEST in this movie!

5. Everyone loves Pooh bear and friends...which character are you most like and why? Click here for help in answering this question.
Well, everyone loves Pooh  so that is a good thing.

6. What's the best chocolate something you've ever eaten?
Believe it or not, I'm not a huge fan of chocolate, but the best I've ever eaten is the fudge that I make every Christmas.  When I pour it out of the pan I always lick the spoon and it is still hot and it is just plum delicious!  I do not eat it any other time.

7. Share a favorite quote about love.
Since I'm on to the Notebook, here's favorite quote from that movie.......They say you fall in love only once, but every time I look at you, I fall in love all over again.   Aweeeeeeeeee!

8. Insert your own random thought here.
This past Monday I went to visit a dear friend that is dealing with a cancer journey.  She was having a good day and decided that she would fix us lunch.  She is an absolutely excellent cook and anything she fixes is always extra good.  She had made a Chicken Bisque Soup and then said she had a special dessert for us.  Of course I asked her what it was and she told me that all she would tell me is that it had Nutmeg and Cinnamon in it.  So, she placed it in front of me and then watched to see my expression as I took my first taste.  I was a tad bit nervous not knowing exactly what she was expecting me to do.  But, my reaction was, "this is one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth."  And, I was not joking!  She then told me that I was eating Persimmon Buttermilk Pudding.  I hardly knew how to respond.  I mean, that is not the most enticing sounding name of a dessert I've ever heard.  But, girlies, let me tell you, it is wonderful with a capitol W!  If you would like the recipe, just click on my recipe tab at the top of this page and it will be the first one listed.  It was the perfect ending to a great meal and a great visit.
