1. It's that most wonderful time of the year...tax season! Do you
complete your own returns or farm that job out to the professionals? Oh, definitely farm it out to the professionals. I keep Quickbooks for our home and Hubby's business but that's as far as it goes. There's too many "i's to dot and t's to cross" for this girly.
2. Which do you think has changed you more-love or pain?
Oh, my goodness, what a question!!! A little of both but I guess pain has changed me the most. The pain of adjustments to life circumstances, the pain of death, and the pain of illnesses and debilitating health conditions. Pain comes in many forms and can often make us stronger and better. In many respects it has done both for me.

3. Tangerine Tango
has been named color of the year for 2012. Your thoughts? Would I
find this color anywhere in your house? How about in your closet? If
not, will you be adding this color to your life in some way in 2012? If
you're not sure what tangerine tango looks like click here.
Oh, yes, I'm all over this color, just have never known it by that name. Yes, you would find this in one of our guest bedrooms as the color of the matelasse bed cover mixed with touches of lime green and black. I do have shades of this color in my closet.

4. Are you a collector? What do you collect and does it get admired, used, and/or dusted regularly?
Well, I have been a much, much worse collector in the past, but I've curtailed the collecting in recent years. It occurred to me that at some point, someone (mainly our children) would appreciate if I didn't leave them anything else to have to get rid of one day. ~smile~ But, I have a wonderful collection of roosters that are on the tops of my kitchen cabinets, sitting on the baker's rack and any place else I can find to put one. I have loved roosters for a long time, they have such personality and such color and they get a lot of attention from folks that come through my kitchen. And, yes, they do get dusted from time to time and let me assure you, it is a CHORE!!!!

5. February is National Heart Month...besides a green salad what is one tasty heart healthy dish you like to prepare? Hubby and I enjoy a grilled turkey fillet. They can be hard to find but we usually find them at Sam's.
6. When was the last time you had car trouble?
Well, I cannot even remember
7. Have you been more demanding on yourself lately or less? Is that a good trend?
I have been less demanding on myself since things have somewhat calmed down with my Dad's illness. I was under such stress from last June through this past Oct. that I felt like for my physical and mental well being I didn't need to take on anything, other than the day to day affairs, that demanded anything of me. After a couple of months reprieve I'm feeling better equipped to start taking on a few extra demands.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
I don't know how many of you have watched Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond, on the Food Network, but I love her shows. She does not have a regular show but did a series of 6 weekly shows last fall and the 4th show of her second series of 6 will be on this week. They air on Saturday mornings at 9:00 (CST). I record them and watch them while I iron. The shows are filmed on location at Drummond Ranch in Oklahoma. Her 4 children and Hubby are included in each show and she is such fun and cooks unbelievably good dishes. If you haven't seen her show, I highly recommend it and her blog is just as enjoyable too.

Oh agree on the pain...love the color, have it in my bedroom. I have got to see her show, I enjoy her also.
ReplyDeleteSo glad your stress has easy up...so glad you know the one that gives your strength for the journey.
Fun post!
I agree with you on #1. I could do our taxes, but it's much easier to just let someone else (even if that someone else is Turbo Tax for me). And I love your answer to #2. I'd love to see your bed cover ... most seem to be thumbs down on tangerine tango, so it's nice to find someone who enjoys it. ;-) I keep meaning to catch the Pioneer Woman's show on the Food Network ... I guess I just need to set my DVR. ;-)
ReplyDeleteGood morning! You are the second time I have heard that was a good show. I am going to try and catch it this week. Hope you have a good day! HUGS
ReplyDeleteI love Pioneer Woman. I wish she had a regular show!!
ReplyDeleteI love Pioneer Woman's dishes but I haven't yet caught her on TV. I just happened on Food Networks website and saw that she was a host..
ReplyDeletei must get some tangerine. : ) never had that color before. you're way hipper than me!
ReplyDeleteanother must? i've got to find a way to see Rea's show!!!
I love that you collect roosters...how cute is that! Cute and Southern :)
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to get some of that tangerine color in my closet...that color is SUCH a fun color for Spring!
I have yet to catch one of the Pioneer Woman's show but I have GOT to record it at some point because I love her and her recipes...I can only imagine her show is just as wonderful!!
Happy Wednesday, sweet friend!!!
I love the Pioneer Woman's show...makes me want to live on a ranch : ) I just knew you'd be a tangerine kind of girl...I'm a fan too!
ReplyDeleteI don't like that tangerine color at all, but I have to admit that I think the room you described would be eye-catching. (In a good way, I mean.) : )
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that pain can certainly help you grow. I follow Pioneer Woman blog. It is great.
ReplyDeleteI love the tangerine colour, I have a bit of it! We don't get any of the Pioneer woman shows here, but I do check out her blog...I love her recipes!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing about Pioneer Woman. I always see people sharing her recipes and have never tried one myself!
ReplyDeleteI iron too :) Monday morning is when I iron for my hubby!
I can picture the trend color with the lime green and black. Elegant.
ReplyDeleteI've heard of Ree Drummond by her blog but never watched her series.
I am also a huge Pioneer Woman fan, there is just something that is so fun about her and the way that she approaches life. I hadn't heard that she was back on TV though, thanks for the information.
ReplyDeleteYour bed cover sounds very pretty.
ReplyDeleteOh dear....#1 is a big pain for me. It takes someone a lot smarter than me to keep up with taxes when it comes to farming. Depreciation of farm equipment and loss of plants due to mother nature is not something I am good at.
ReplyDeleteNow when it comes to the color....I love it and you would definitely find it in our family room, or on my toes! Enjoyed this post!
hugs
Love your post! Hmmmm - don't do my taxes due to the pain that changed me the most (scammed by a scam artist). Tangerine, not much but little snippets here and there and I collect crosses. Love them all, especially those that are gifts. Blessings friend.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed reading your answers. I totally forgot to mention my large collection of roosters. Something about them just grabs my heart. I love Ree and her cookbook. I did she a show awhile back. I will have to set my DVR. Enjoy the rest of your week.
ReplyDeleteI watched every episode of the Pioneer Woman Food Network shows. However, there are only a handful of recipes I would try to make as they are certainly not low calorie. But they do look good and I love the show itself.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to say that I have never visited your blog. I KNOW I KNOW! I know you because of you always-encouraging comments on my blog, but I rarely ever read blogs. I used to and then I got pregnant and gave it up... haven't picked it back up.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to tell you that you are lovely. It's refreshing to read someone uplifting and positive. Thank you for being my blog friend! Blessings!
Hi Lea! This makes me want to get back into doing the Wednesday Hodge-Podge!
ReplyDeleteHey, I wanted to let you know about an awesome blog I found recently. It's called Over50Feeling40, and it's by a lady named Pam. Right now she's having a terrific give-away as well.
