Gotta love Wednesday's when Joyce gives us questions that often stretch our brains. And, it's an opportunity for folks to get to know us a little better by the answers we give. Sit back and enjoy!
1. What's one thing that's still the same about you as when you were young?
My laugh.........I have a very loud laugh, always have and likely always will. I enjoy a good laugh and take advantage whenever I possibly can. You know the old saying, "laughter is the best medicine." Well, I take that to heart!
2. What's more important-history or science? Why?
Oh, now, this is definitely a toughie for me because I do not have much interest in either. I know, shame on me! But, it's the truth. But, I think they are both important. History paves the way for the future, be it good or bad and science holds the keys to so much of our future. I know, a bit lame, but it's all I can come up with right now. ~grin~
3. Lima, kidney, string, garbanzo, black or pinto-your favorite bean?
I don't think there is a bean that I do not like, but pinto rates right up there with the best of them. And, with fall on the horizon I'll be making a lot of dishes with beans and of course, that means we'll have some cornbread as well.
4. What's something people come to your town to do?
Our town is home to Simmons Sporting Goods. Now, it isn't a Cabela's or Bass Pro, but for our little town, it is HUGE. Folks drive from all over Northeast Louisiana and Southeast Arkansas to shop there. It is definitely about all that is keeping us on the map at this time (business related), so we're grateful.
5. When was the last time you were in a meeting? Sum it up for us in five words or less.
Too many women with opinions ~need I say more~
6. What special event would you like a VIP pass to attend?
Oh, the Kentucky Derby! I like the race, but all the fashion is so interesting and I would love to be "front and center" to take it all in. ~the horses and the fashion~ And, I'd definitely be sporting the cutest hat I could possibly find. ~wink~
7. What's one piece of advice you'd give a writer?
Write from your heart
8. Insert your own random thought here.

ReplyDeleteHa! I love your comment about meetings! I totally agree.
ReplyDeleteMy heart hurts for your daughter. I'm so sorry. Praying for peace for her and wisdom and the doctors figure out what's going on with her body.
Blessings to you!
My heart just breaks for your precious daughter. I feel so thankful and blessed every day that my baby is still kicking inside me. My sister had her second miscarriage a few weeks ago, and it broke my heart. It is so hard when you want to take away the pain somehow and you can't. Even though I do not know your daughter, I hope you and she knows that I think of her often and pray for her. I pray that the Lord just comfort her heart and all of you as well. I hope the doctors have wisdom and will know if something is wrong. I am sure God is going to use her in some special way since she has had to endure so many difficulties. Love from Texas....
ReplyDeleteOh Lea my heart just hurts for your precious daughter, and for you as well. Soo hard. My sister's daughter had a very similar experience with a wonderful ending however. Her first pregnancy was picture perfect. She went on then to have 3 unexplained miscarriages, and then two more healthy babies after that. I will keep your daughter in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh myself thinking about your answer to #1. Your laughter truly is you. Again, so sorry for Bridget's loss. We will pray for results that indicate something can be done in order for her to carry her baby full-term. Good to have you back.
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to your daughter. My sister had 2 pregnancies and then a lot of miscarriages so I feel your pain.
ReplyDeleteOh your sweet daughter! I will be praying for her and the rest of your family as you morn this loss.
ReplyDeleteI love your 1st answer! And the Kentucky Derby never entered my mind, but now that you say it, I would like to have a VIP pass to that too!! Happy Wednesday!
Loved your answer to meetings and to writers :-) Both very true.
ReplyDeleteMy heart is hurting for your sweet daughter, how very hard this must be for her....can't imagine. Praying for her and her momma!

ReplyDeleteOh, my heart breaks for you and your daughter .Three miscarriages is hard to understand. I will be praying for comfort and peace.
If I were to sum up this morning's meeting my thoughts would run along the same lines as yours.
ReplyDeleteI'm so very sorry for your daughter and her husband. I'm sure that is so difficult and I will keep her in my prayers. I'm glad you were able to be with her in person and I know it probably did your own momma heart good too.
As always, CiCi, I leave so blessed, and am enjoying getting to know you.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about your daughter's miscarriage, and can relate, our daughter tried for many years to have a child, having miscarriage after miscarriage, finally God gave her two beautiful daughters. I will be praying.
